Dude literally got triple teamed.
you are completely right bro this is a wild timberwolves hate thread. insane bias
The pass window is really short and people are clowning Rudy for not being Jokic. Off ball movement is really bad on the play.
thank god you said this i was starting to believe i was the insane one for wanting to cut a guy some slack for getting triple teamed while the rest of his team just stood still. height advantage doesn't make that much of a difference when you're getting absolutely smothered like that, theres no space to do anything.
like yeah gobert fucked up here but shit happens sometimes and the defense played it really well. people here r just taking the opportunity to dogpile on him because they dont like him.
Sadly most people here can't recognize the most basic defensive schemes just "lul he turned it over"
Basic defensive scheme? 6'1, 200lb Jevon Carter literally just had to stand between Rudy and the basket to stop him cause Rudy doesn't have the skills to power him down or get around him to score on him 3 feet away from the basket.
In your last comment you admit he was triple teamed (almost immediately btw), and now you are trying to frame it as if Jevon Carter was his only defender.
I get having a hate boner for Gobert, but being this disingenuous over a single possession really is pathetic.
Rudy bad no offensive bag, pls upvote.
Tbf those are solid rotations by the Bulls
So therefore there are two other teammates open. Can’t shoot for shit and getting triple teamed? Look for one of two open men.
It's almost like a triple team you didn't expect could make that pass hard
He's taller and has longer arms there literally everyone around him. You do realize passing out of double/triple teams is a lot easier the taller you are right?
the ones that are just standing there at the perimeter? passing is a two-person act, the receiver has to make themselves available...especially when we're talking about the ball handler being the team's defense-oriented center
Especially because they’re so close together, it allowed Ayo and Pat Will to guard the 3 Wolves players by themselves. That play was doomed from the start though
a pass there probably gets picked off or deflected by the man watching near the paint. they gotta make a move somewhere instead of standing there.
And why did he get triple teamed?
Cause he asked for the ball and settled in a bad spot for himself (would've been fine for most bigs but it's a bad spot for Rudy). Dude couldn't get himself in a better position with Jevon Carter guarding him in the post.
Cause he didn't immediately take advantage of having the 6'1 Jevon Carter defending him 1v1 to score.
Cause he told his teammate to cut and panicked and didn't know what to do when he got double teamed and he couldn't pass it.
Cause no one is afraid of Rudy Gobert with the ball in his hands cause everyone knows if Rudy tries to do anything but put the ball in the hoop within 3 feet of the basket or pass out immediately when he has the ball he has no idea what to do with the ball.
rudy has not really improved much on offense in his career
Y'all have no clue how bad rookie Gobert was at basketball. Dude has put in some serious work
He had a few seconds to shoot over someone a foot shorter than him before he got trapped
Rudy’s offensive game is limited, that shouldn’t be surprising to no one
He had less than 2 seconds before 3 guys were inside of his jockstrap
His foot is in the paint and the guy guarding him is about a foot shorter than him
Anybody with some semblance of an offensive coordination and sense would have immediately gone for it
No reason for Rudy to hold the ball
