The warriors are going to ride the big three to the end and be absolutely terrible for 2-4 seasons because of it. Then get horrible lottery luck and be pretty bad for another couple of seasons.
Hard to imagine there’s going to be much optimism when 30, 11, and 23 hang it up.
As a patriots fan, such is the way. Enjoy the golden days while they last
I assume that's a huge part of why Bob Myers left the organization.
He wanted to die a hero instead of live long enough to become a villain
Fair weather GM confirmed?
At least you’ll have 4 rings to help with the pain
That's why I hope it happens that way. Where they all ride off together. The 4 rings is a blessing as a fan. Some of y'all been yearning just for ONE chip for ages. Those 3 guys deserve to break down on the floor or retire gracefully. On their terms simply.
Eh I’m fine with this. The warriors got 4 titles in the last ten years, let our big three hoop until they can’t anymore. It would be nice to watch them finish their career together, and I’m sure they would be happy to finish it on the warriors.
Horrible lottery luck means bad for a decade, a couple seasons of badness is what good luck looks like.
Maybe don’t waste your good lottery luck on James Wise-ass and a bucket of Kum
Kuminga is better than any player the rockets have drafted in the past 5 years
Lmao
So basically the patriots right now but basketball
Or the spurs between Kawhi and Wemby
Even more spot on if Poole breaks out.
Wizards winning a ring this year
Brady and Gronk both left though
The warriors won't be in too bad of shape they'll just need to start over. Curry was picked at 7, Thompson 11 and Draymond in the 2nd round. They're a perfect example of why taking isn't necessary. You don't need the #1 pick to get talent.
It's pretty notable that the Warriors haven't repeated this feat in over 10 years. Since the Draymond draft, they've been moderately successful with Loon, hopeful about Kuminga, and I'll leave Poole for others to judge, but certainly no all-stars so far.
Granted it's early, and I wouldn't yet write off Wiseman or some others, but let's not pretend that starting over is easy because the Dubs have the draft game figured out.
Looney was the 30th pick. He’s had a highly successful career relative to that
Oh yeah I don't mean it's easy but they'll be in the same boat as every other team. The idea that they'll be in a historically bad place isn't really right. I'm not a GSW fan but their success shows the possibilities for other franchises especially as an alternative to bottoming out and tanking.
You could pick the best player in 95% of draft classes and still not end up with a player as good as Curry.
Agreed, my point is you're not that much more likely to find a Steph Curry at #1 or #2 than you are at #8 or #9. Look at where Giannis and Jokic were drafted, for example.
If you draft well, develop players you draft and get lucky with injuries (Curry getting signed for cheap at the end of his rookie deal, for example) then things can go really well even if the picks aren't in the top 3.
