Ok so the setup is I have not been watching recent media of the last half decade or so but the dog in superman along with some reviews got me thinking about grabbing it once its available digitally. However I recently found out some of my neighbors are geeky and one is into comics as the main thing and they both recommended FF4 (editing this to say that is supposed to be fantastic four and I don't know what I was thinking. fantasctic four 4. lol. sorry. boy would have saved me a lot just to write it properly to begin with) and thunderbolts over superman. They felt superman was alright and the dog was sorta the best part but FF4 and thunderbolts blew them away. So for lemmikins and other members of the federation who have seen all three movies. How do you feel about them or rank them or whatever you think it right but you should have watched all three in their entirety.

  1. They're just movies. Pirate 'em if you're feeling cheap but there's no reason you have to choose beyond order. No reason to stress.
  2. People have their favorites; don't assume that being "into comics" means their opinion is significantly more valuable than someone else's. In fact, that can lead to prioritizing things in a way that's not universal and might even be offputting to people who are into movies as the main thing, for instance the people who like the LOTR books thinking that absolutely ruining the pacing of the Jackson movies to cram in more pages worth of book was a good idea.
  3. I haven't seen the other two, but while Thunderbolts is a solid return to form for Marvel, that is still sort of "nice but empty calories." Don't get me wrong; I liked it, and they took pains to drop in a few lines of dialogue so you don't have to spend a month taking notes on old movies and Disney Plus shows to get the gist of who the characters are. Still, it's not an essential cinematic experience.

Thanks but Im to lazy to pirate and I don't really like it. I am by no means against it as I think copyright should be like 20 years and thats it. I actually decided to post on ask lemmy precisely to get a broader idea of what people think. I appreciate your review for thunderbolts which is exactly the kind of Sincere type of thing I was looking for. In this case we have some credits that we will have to use for something so im gauging what to use them for.
