Very clever at marketing. If you've seen him in person, he turns the act on and off like a light switch.
But the man's been a bullshit artist since day one.
It's not a change in character. He just found a bigger set of suckers.

He grabbed headline news and mashed it up with popular conspiracy theories of the moment.
Jones didn't know anything you couldn't find in the pages of The New Republic or The Austin American Statesman or PBS. He just made an art of cobbling it together with The Drudge Report and Townhall.com, so that people who didn't follow both strains of news figured he was saying something novel or insightful.
He was outright scamming people.

The older I get the more I tend to believe this.
There's a pretty good series of episodes on the podcast Behind The Bastards. Including how he sold high in lead content supplements for years. That actually might be brilliant though, as lead increases violent tendencies and reduces cognitive function, which will prevent his customer base from realizing he's just making shit up and trying to make them mad.
I don't think he did it on purpose either, but the lead part is true. The Center for Environment Health did test it.

You're barking up the wrong tree. Most people in the state are incompetent, not evil. The problem is incompetence allows evil to thrive. I've never supported censorship, but I do support people getting consequences to their actions. Alex Jones has actively supported violence through lies, and actively sold poison with no recompense. If you think what he's going through now is recompense.... I'm sorry? But you're wrong. He's doing fine through his crocodile tears.

Well I definitely stopped liking him after he went maga, I used to enjoy his show just for the news really. He would have basically ever good story if you didn't get caught up in the commentary. That guy was like a researcher on meth, in more ways than one.
You were into him in 2012 when he denied the Sandy Hook shooting was real and that the parents were crisis actors perpetuating a false flag op to pass gun regulations?? Long before MAGA was a thing, he was a piece of shit. Even when 9/11 happened….he was making shit up on the day of the attacks. The dude has always used tragedies to boost his profile.
