I think it's been 3 consecutive years now that ive been waiting on a deep sale for some titles, but they have yet to reach lower than 10 bucks (max I'm willing to pay).

Some of them aren't particularly old releases so I dont mind waiting more:

  • Signalis
  • Caravan SandWitch
  • UFO50
  • Season
  • System Shock (remake)
  • No Man's Sky
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Nier Automata

I might get those:

  • Rain World
  • Weird West
  • Card Shark
  • OlliOlli World

I assume I still got a few years until Baldur’s Gate 3 dips below $20.

[–] neon_nova@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah! I’m wanting that game.

I have about $15 in steam credit, so I’m thinking of just pulling the trigger even though I have other games I’m actively playing.

i wanna get it as soon as I'm done with divinity 2!

but i need to get a total of 4 copies for the partner and the youngins, and gosh.

i do wanna support them though!

[–] neon_nova@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 weeks ago

I decided to pull the trigger on bg3 maybe today or next week.

Depends on if I have time to play today.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

You prob played them already, but the Divinity: Original Sin games are on deep discount

[–] etchinghillside@reddthat.com 3 points 3 weeks ago

Yup - I certainly recommend those any chance I get.

I have Rogue Trader in flight and still have Pillars Of Eternity 2 and Tyranny in my backlog to hopefully tide me over.

Also if you wanna go real oldschool, Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity go for like 70¢ occasionally. :D

If you wait too long, larian's new game will be out

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Why would that matter? It will be unrelated to BG3.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Hey, sometimes people are drawn to new games rather than tried and true games.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 7 points 3 weeks ago

If they're waiting due to price, they're probably not interesting in buying the new game because it's new.

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

That doesn't hurt BG3, and Larian has been adding free content to BG3 over time, so really the longer you wait the better it'll be. Still, it's definitely worth the price. It's a pretty long game, and good for the entire duration. Its also pretty replayable.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 3 weeks ago

I feel the need to clarify that I was half sarcastic teasing

[–] kuberoot@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 3 weeks ago

Larian has been adding free content to BG3 over time

I think they said the content updates are done, in the last content update?

[–] steeznson@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

UFO50 is good value even when it isn't on sale imo. So much content crammed into it!

[–] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Rdr2 is free on epic on new years day.

That's an interesting story there senator, you gotta a source to back that up?

Edit: I looked this up myself. It's fake

The fact that Tropico 5 was NOT the free game from epic today along with several other different ones not on the list previously should tell you that this list was fake

Depends on what you're looking for. I'd confidently recommend against buying it if you're looking for an action game. There's at least 10 better, cheaper candidates on Steam.

[–] FenrirIII@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

No Man's Sky is fun and worth it

[–] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 weeks ago

At first I read “Wired West” and got hopeful for a new person experiencing Dust for the first time.

[–] b000rg@midwest.social 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Definitely get Card Shark if you have a gamepad. I bought it a couple days ago, and I'm in love with it.

I actually live close to where that game stars off, so it's a must play haha
