This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

For example, being asked to use harsh lighting instead of soft lighting on subjects, using on camera flash, etc.

I’ll do what the client asks, but it concerns me that they don’t trust my knowledge (not saying I’m all knowledgeable).

at that point, you really need to pull the "im the professional" card.

they are hiring you to take high-quality photos of a subject specifically because they lack the skill or equipment to do so. so why are you listening to their unskilled suggestions for setting up your equipment?
