To me, this is the guy that did a dirty to Hillary a week before her election with trump, but now he's trump's enemy?

He "seemed" to pretty quickly regret whatever role he might have played in trump winning. Comey was always trying to maintain a low profile after trump got sworn in and didn't really try to buddy up to him or take advantage of it like one would expect.
