It's going to be so funny when this is thrown out.

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 9 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

To me, this is the guy that did a dirty to Hillary a week before her election with trump, but now he's trump's enemy?

[–] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 5 points 4 hours ago

He "seemed" to pretty quickly regret whatever role he might have played in trump winning. Comey was always trying to maintain a low profile after trump got sworn in and didn't really try to buddy up to him or take advantage of it like one would expect.

8647 should become a popular T-shirt. Pretty hard to convict one person for something that is widespread in the popular culture.

[–] 4grams@awful.systems 9 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

I have an 86 45 shirt I used to wear during the first term. When the comey bullshit first hit the news, my father called me and told me how I shouldn’t wear violent messages, told me that I’d better watch my back if I wore something like that again. I hung up and ordered an 86 47 shirt. Wearing it today in fact.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 2 points 4 hours ago

I want one. I'm going shopping today.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago

But the emails.

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 6 points 5 hours ago

He sells seashells.

[–] Quexotic@infosec.pub 6 points 5 hours ago

There needs to be a loud campaign educating people on jury nullification.

[–] discocactus@lemmy.world 10 points 9 hours ago

This guy doesn't know about the shells!!!

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 5 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

after all this time comey is what led him to the 1st term, and the 2nd term, because helped energized the R base by posting "false" allegations of investigation against her.

[–] skuzz@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 11 hours ago

Mango's annual schedule of follow-ups must be based on his Facebook "on this day"

[–] I_Fart_Glitter@lemmy.world 83 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

The president is committing war crimes and the FBI is charging the former FBI director over an insta post from a year ago, clearly suggesting impeachment.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 15 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago) (1 children)

So the DOJ is hoping that nobody on the jury knows that 86 means to give someone the bum's rush, not to kill them.

Even then, if it were a threat, which it isn't, it's in no way actionable.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 5 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

This will never reach the jury. There won't even be a Day 2. The judge will toss this immediately.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 1 points 28 minutes ago

This time, yes. But eventually, they're going to get a MAGA judge, and someone will go to political prison. That will set a precedent.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 25 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

seems like a direct violation of his first amendment rights.

unless he comes out and says what it means, it's subjective art that is up to interpretation.

[–] flandish@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago

true but even if you say “i think x should die” you’re still within your rights. none of “thinking” is actionable.

[–] GuyFawkesV@lemmy.world 19 points 14 hours ago

First they came for…

Aww fuck it; they’re coming for anyone speaking ill of the orange fat fucking turd shitstain now.

And I stand by that assessment.

So how did society evolve to replace toilet paper with three seashells - and they skip right over the bidet?

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 41 minutes ago* (last edited 41 minutes ago)

i posit the shells are the bidet controls. low pressure, high pressure, blow dry.

[–] Pman@lemmy.org 12 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I was thinking the exact same thing

This gets laughed out of court, right? Right?

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 4 points 5 hours ago

Absolutely, it's obviously a desperation Hail Mary play, but not before Comey spends several thousand dollars on lawyers, after spending a whole lot to defend himself the last time.

Perhaps there is a family strategy at play. His daughter was fired as a Federal prosecutor, after working on high profile cases like Epstein. She is now sueing the DoJ, and will probably win, so maybe she can use some of that government money to cover her Dad's legal bills.

He should also sue for malicious prosecution.

[–] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 58 points 18 hours ago

Yes, but it is intended as harassment, not "justice".

He still needs a lawyer, he can't just ignore it.

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 13 points 18 hours ago

If nothing else than for the fact that Trump and friends made public statements condemning him. Can't really have an impartial jury after that

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 21 points 17 hours ago (3 children)

And a judge ok’d this warrant?

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 3 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

There are enough corrupt MAGA judges that, if they try long enough, a case will land with one.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 2 points 5 hours ago

Like Trump's Insurrection case landing with Jack Smith, and the Stolen Documents case with Cannon.

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 19 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

There’s an old saying about grand juries that also applies to a great many judges: They would indict a ham sandwich if the DA asked them to.

[–] CaptainSpaceman@lemmy.world 11 points 17 hours ago

Theyd indict a ham sandwich, but not a ham sandwich TOSSER!

[–] PapaStevesy@lemmy.world 4 points 13 hours ago

American judges don't need to have any actual knowledge of the law, they just have to get the job.

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 27 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Some seashells laid out in 86 47.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 18 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

jfc, it took me wayyyyy to long to figure it was just like.. "kick out '47".

I thought it was some crazy complicated code. No. Just 86.

[–] obinice@lemmy.world 6 points 14 hours ago (3 children)

For those of us out of the loop, why would 8647 mean "Kick out Trump?"

Nice message though, shame it never happened I suppose :-(

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 14 points 13 hours ago

86 is pretty old slang originating in the hospitality industry, meaning to throw something away. It then came to include kicking people out, and also left the hospitality industry to become general slang.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/86_(term)

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 10 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

It took like... FAR more effort than it should have for me to get it.

86, slang, as in something you might tell your buddies like: "Oh I they 86'd from the bar last night because they were wasted"

86, as in, getting kicked out. See: https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=86

Then, "47", as in, the 47th president.

However, its only now I'm learning about its use to refer to a grave. I've never heard that before. I've only heard the usage as a verb/ adverb "to get 86'd"

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 1 points 4 hours ago

47 does not mean "a grave," that's just a MAGA lie to try to inject some measure of rationalization for this absurd and malicious persecution.

Not only should the judge kick this out, they should sanction the prosecutor who charged it.

The cowardly Trump lawyers will keep bringing this bullshit to court, just to keep their paycheck, until judges start slapping them down hard with real consequences - investigations, sanctions, contempt charges, complaints to the bar, disbarment, etc.

When they realize that they could actually lose their freedom and/or livelihoods by following orders, maybe they'll start either defying those orders, or quitting.

[–] RogueBanana@piefed.zip 3 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Ah, I thought 47 as in agent 47 so it was suggesting shooting trump or something.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 3 points 12 hours ago

Yeah i got a bit wooshed.

Wow, distraction time again, since this happened more than a year ago.

  • "I'm not a pedophile"
  • "My beautiful ballroom"
  • Convicted rapist
  • Mentioned over a thousand times in the released Epstein files. I bet none of us are
[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 2 points 4 hours ago

You know who never has to say, "I'm not a pedophile?"

People who aren't pedophiles.

[–] Fishnoodle@lemmy.world 12 points 18 hours ago

Trump doesn't know how to use the three Sea shells
