Chet is playing alongside Shai, who is a superstar averaging 28/6/6 so obviously it will be easier for Chet to score when the defense isn’t going to be focused on stopping him the whole game. Chet is a piece of the OKC system whereas Wembenyama is the system for the Spurs. The games they play are different.
Chet is definitely helped by having a good roster around him but the Spurs would still win games with him instead of Wemby. The team is pretty bad, but no need to pretend like it’s completely devoid of talent or way worse than just a normal, young rebuilding team.
The Spurs have 3 wins. Two of them came because Wemby went off in the 4th. In the other Wemby dropped 38/10 on 57/50/100. Who knows what would happen if they swapped places but I don’t see how we win those games if Chet can’t replicate those performances.
Okc is currently 4th in the west, so we’d be adding Wemby to go up one place? It’s about who is the better rookie in the season, using the context of how the team’s play is irrelevant. As a 7 footer why is his 3 percentage so low when he towers above most players and plays the 4? That’s not team dependent.
Wemby is definitely not a tier above lol
I mean he is. It’s not hard to see.
Chet is 7'1 and Wemby is 7'4 so of course as rookies its expected he can handle the ball better and have better hands. PG13 has better "technical skills" than Lebron but nobody thinks hes better than him. You can't just look at one facet of the game and judge an entire player like that, you have to look at their impact on winning.
