Another day, another Cybertruck being towed from somewhere nobody really ought to need a tow from. Take a look, Toyota Sienna to the rescue.

On one level i do have pity for anyone who got grifted by a nazi and wasted a bunch of money only to commit themselves to an endless stream of repairs and recalls while getting laughed at everywhere they go, all for a shit car with no resale value.

Regular Tesla drivers who bought their vehicle several years ago, before Musk showed very clear signs of being a Nazi POS? Yeah I have some sympathy for them.

But Cybertruck users knew exactly who they were buying from. They deserve no sympathy.

Pity, not sympathy. They still got grifted and will be laughed anywhere they go. I pity them that.

You mean in 2013?

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago (4 children)

Well, not the first few batches of cyber truck. I think it went up for preorder before musk showed he was a nazi, and sold through probably 3-4 batches.

But after that? I agree with you.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

You were able to cancel those preorders. It’s not like they already paid for the truck. Worst case was people who paid the 1k to make it a binding order rather than a reservation on a waiting list. (Suckers. Why would you preorder a car?!)

Literal nazi, yeah, but in ... checks notes ... Nov '23 it was long known that he was off his rockers in a very right-wing way. And I mean widely known through his Twitter nazification and his association with the bigliest of them all.

Oh, fair enough.

It was already known in the '10s who he really was.
