/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!
Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'
~ **8. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.
Fun will now commence.

No wonder he was so cool under pressure. Nothing on the Enterprise stood up to that kind of hell.
I agree. However, the colorful space food was likely it's own special kind of helll.
Are you saying you don't find this appetizing?
Well, you can always have a ham sandwich and some coff- ooh.
What this doesn't tell you is that he was shot six times not by Nazis.... but by friendly fire 🤦♂️.
To be fair, it was really chaotic and bullets were flying everywhere in both directions. There were a lot of friendly fire casualties on both sides when they stormed Normandy.
"...and how many Nazi snipers did you take out at Normandy Laddy?"
Killed four of them. Then was captured in the South Pacific. They took my shins. But I escaped. Hid under a pile of bodies for two weeks. When I got back they sewn my feet back to my knees so I could walk again.
Thank you for your service Mr. Hill
~~The urge to fact-check this is so strong, even though I know it to be inherently false. I want to believe~~
Holy. Shit... this is going to take a sec to sink in. I'm in awe of what I have learned here today. Thank you
Which part, the D-Day part or the Space Navy part?
I've seen his Spacy Navy docuseries ~~before~~, ~~a few times~~, a bunch (which was badass already), but I had no idea he was in D-day, taking out snipers and getting shot like it was out of some "Saving Private Ryan" shit... and he was a skilled pilot‽ Blew my mind today
He really was. In fact, he lost a finger on D-Day and you can occasionally see it in various episodes, but he tried to keep it hidden most of the time.
I will now being looking for it every time I re-watch an episode
I'm sure there's some sort of YouTube supercut or something.
I saw him at a con in the late 80s.
By way of concession, when responding not so enthusiastically to questions from the audience about the shenanigans Shatner and Nimoy got up to in order to blow off steam during long shooting days, Doohan said that since he’d been in real combat in WW2, he had a different approach to work and not a lot in common with them.
Damn, Doohans the man.
Never knew this, thanks
Are you trying to tell me smoking saved his life?
Smoking- the savior and the death of WWII veterans?
Smoking saved Scotty and killed Spock. Leonard Nimoy died of COPD from smoking.
