The people are insane.
They are in a cult, so yeah.
Maybe I'm ignorant because I can't imagine waiting that long in line to see anyone, but why would there be provisions for people waiting? Is that normal?
If you want to go wait for something wouldn't you be responsible enough to bring everything you need, to include ways to hygiene if required?
Some of the longer lines in Disney World have bathrooms along the line.
I wouldn't expect any water or food but toilets.
