  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Don't worry, one of you will get a token position in a department with "urban" in the title. Fucking dipshits.

Ben Carson, the stupidest brain surgeon, can tell you.

Herman Cain would likely be up next. If appointed four-day, he would roll in his grave... that he occupies after dying from COVID before posthumously tweeting that COVID was fake. Fucking dipshit.

HUD. Its always "Put the Brown person in charge of the housing projects... They know those people."

[–] normalexit@lemmy.world 12 points 20 hours ago

Did any of them try using a sizable donation?

[–] breadsmasher@lemmy.world 165 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Why are they surprised? Trump is racist af

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 138 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Because they, like any minority that votes Republican, too often think that they're "one of the good ones" that will be spared the racism.

[–] PP_BOY_@lemmy.world 41 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

It's anecdotal for sure but the most racist (against blacks), biggest Trump supporter I've ever known was a ~70 year old black man who would routinely call young black men n***ers in public when they did something he didn't approve of.

[–] gibmiser@lemmy.world 52 points 1 day ago

You know Uncle Ruckus?!

[–] stoly@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

My former best friend (for a lot of reasons, is former) was a black man from Florida who confidently would say how all of Africa's problems are due to their own incompetence and that people who speak African American Vernacular English are lazy. Dude also celebrated Biden beating Bernie in the previous primary.

[–] Adderbox76@lemmy.ca 3 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago) (1 children)

At the risk of sounding insensitive, I'd argue that the average Black American is generationally so far removed from the African continent that their knowledge of post-colonial african politics is about the same as the average white dude. They're not granted any special insight on account of their anscestors came from there.

Sadly this person has been around the world as lot as his hobby for 20+ years was to travel internationally once a month and domestically twice. He had an agreement with the hotel he worked at that he'd work any shift they wanted as long as they gave him any time off when he wanted it. Sadly, even being exposed to culture doesn't necessarily make you cultured.

[–] RamblingPanda@lemmynsfw.com 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I could have seen that in his first term, but if they expected to be seen and treated any other in the second they might get their expectations adjusted.

[–] stoly@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Believe it or not, these are not necessarily the same voters. A whole new generation of stupid just joined the ranks.

[–] ChocoboRocket@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

Or, maybe they'll be the Token Black Republican!

Knowing they're personally hated by their party, and the only reason they are tolerated is because their existence "refutes" the palpable and constant racisim of the GOP.

One day, if they hate their own race enough, they can grow up to be the greatest Uncle Tom in history aside from Clarence Thomas!

[–] disguy_ovahea@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago

The guy who spent so little time around black people on the campaign trail that they were forced to use AI? That guy?

We are not a monolith!

[–] Lasherz12@lemmy.world 77 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He doesn't want them on his properties. Why would he want them in their cabinet? Take the hint, dipshits: You're volunteering to be a token for someone who hates you.

That does summarize the majority of their careers, though.

[–] bitchkat@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

You mean as guests/customers right? I'm sure he has plenty mowing grass, cooking, cleaning ...

[–] Linktank@lemmy.today 51 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Black republican should be an oxymoron, but I guess they're just regular morons.

[–] stoly@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

It's important to recall that anyone can be an idiot.

[–] Hadriscus@lemm.ee 8 points 1 day ago

gee big surprise!

[–] SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 34 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You mean the guy who was so angry about a black President making a joke at his expense that he made his end-of-life goal to become the President just to get back at this guy because he couldn't handle that a black man could make a joke at his expense or hold a higher officer than him?

You get what you pay for.

[–] rauls4@lemm.ee 24 points 1 day ago (2 children)

It’s amazing what that press correspondents dinner joke has cost us.

Some days I wonder how much Obama regrets it.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 22 hours ago

Eh, donvict might have been planning something anyway since he was already king of the birthers at that point.

[–] WaxiestSteam69@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

All those groups really didn't expect the leopard to eat their face.

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

Tough shit and WTF do you expect from a bunch of racist neo-Nazis?

[–] BmeBenji@lemm.ee 3 points 19 hours ago

In other news: ABC news has begun reporting on the status of the drying paint on the wall

[–] xc2215x@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What were they expecting ?

To be acknowledged as "One of the good ones".

[–] EndOfLine@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago

Whaaaaaat? The man who was supported by racists and literal Nazis is not appointing blacks to positions of power? I, for one, am shocked. Shocked I tell you!

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

The Uncle Toms got a permanent seat on the SCOTUS, thats more overrepresentation than they deserve.

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

We told you so.

[–] eran_morad@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

Gotta be a special type dumbass.

[–] chemical_cutthroat@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Gee, I wonder why...?

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (2 children)

We need a new emoji to not-so-subtly show shock and also convey ignorance to the assholes who voted for this because they're fucking easily led and stupid, apparently.

Trump isn't giving you ALL of what he promised after he got out of jail and ruined any semblance of accountant for the shit he's done and now you're shocked because you're fucking stupid? 🏴‍☠️

Something like that.
