Representing the "Free State of Jefferson" in Southern Oregon but failing to acknowledge "Greater Idaho" these weirdos don't even know what's really going on. As a PNW resident, I'm dissapointed.

I just like Texas getting carved up into half a dozen different mini-states for some reason. Like, who actually wants this, other than some dipshit trying to count to 100? You'd have more luck carving up Colorado, Michigan, or Pennsylvania.

Idiocy aside, does anyone know what this map actually represents (because I'm guessing, with Italy and Iceland in there, it's probably not a map of military conquest)?

Pretty sure its a shitpost map originally, probably originated from Cartographycirclejerk or something. Its a mix of a bunch of ideas that wouldve never happened together but do make sense under the principles of basically a Victoria 2 game.

TIL that the Philippines was an American colony 1899-1946...but Iceland? Yeah, I'd like to know also.

Yo, why do they want the Caribbean? They already have P.R. and they treat it like an S.T.D. they're ignoring.

They want more people to treat like shit.

How about we start by making Puerto Rico and DC states

[–] ricecake@sh.itjust.works 43 points 1 day ago (3 children)

They don't want to do that, those would both add solidly democratic senators, and likely permanently cost them the Senate.

Not like Canada and Greenland, which are notoriously conservative and would vote for Republicans consistently. Ignore the comparatively liberal policies, those aren't related. Quebec and Greenland in particular are just chomping at the bit to jump on Republican mainstays like adopting English as the one true and official language of the US.

[–] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 39 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They don't want to do any of this. They want to propose ridiculous pipedreams that they cannot hope to accomplish, and wouldn't enjoy if they did, because it distracts from their lack of ideas or morals.

Every conversation about Canada and Greenland is one you're not having about sex crimes and class warfare.

Northern Sicily had me rolling, especially without Gibraltar.

My first thought was, fuck yeah! I'm game for a North American Union. But it appears that's not what they meant.

And Texas? To shreds you say?

Yeah sure… but start by adopting the metric system, then we’ll talk.

(And stop with the 1$ bills… what a waste)

So they are planning on invading an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark? A part of EU and UN.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 44 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

They seem to be planning on invading everyone. Canada's about to elect a far-right government of its own, and I don't trust the Conservative Party of Canada not to go along with it, because they've been trying to dismantle everything that made Canada a nicer place to live than the USA for decades.
