Sad that it's only 25%.
I can’t think of anything else as significant in consumer product sales.
Some people may still be boycotting Chick Fil A and Hobby Lobby. Though I doubt if it's 25%.
Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

I still boycott Chic-Fil-Subpar.
I've had it for free a couple times and I cannot understand what the hype is all about. I can go down the street to a mom and pop place and get a way better chicken sandwich for the same price and I don't have to wait in a line wrapping around the block. It's definitely some cult behavior.
But yeah, I have LGBTQ people in my life so I don't need to support an anti-LGBTQ corporation. Unfortunately, most Americans like tasty treats and shiny objects more than morality or accountability.
Yep, I don't eat at Bigot Bird, either.
I have good memories of eating there with my dad in the 90s and I guess it was fine? But I know better now and I'm too queer for their BS.
I'd break my "don't eat X animal species" dietary restrictions before I ate there.
That would be me. I don’t shop at either. Neither do my friends or family. Don’t give money to companies that use it to actively persecute you and your friends.
I'm still among those people. On the rare occasion that I am presented with no option for food other than Chik-Fil-A, I find their food disgusting. I only have two data points - nuggets and hash browns - and both were excessively greasy, bland turds.
My girlfriend's mom gifted her a Hobby Lobby gift card. We regifted it back to her the following year.

I fully support folks boycotting Chik-Fil-A, but you went to a store known for their chicken sandwiches and then got other things. Their sandwiches are basic but good. I don't enjoy their nuggets or hash browns either.
I kinda hate that Elon is the issue for 25% of people and not the fact Tesla is using regular cameras instead of LiDAR
Not sure about the value of LiDAR, but their inability to integrate ANY multimodal sensors (RADAR or even SONAR parking sensors which are no longer on ANY of their vehicles) points to either an unwillingness/inability to solve the engineering problem of integration, penny pinching, or both. I bought a demo Model 3 in 2019 (it’s a 2018) which has ultrasound sensors (for now? It used to also have RADAR) and as our family has grown a Y would be a much better fit for us. But no chance I’m buying another Tesla.
I'm more deterred by the amount of control that Tesla retains over their vehicles after they've "sold" it. But if that wasn't enough, Musk's descent in oligarchic fascism certainly would be.
Musk is clearly bad for the companies he heads. I'm eagerly awaiting the investor lawsuits. The stocks will probably have to dip first, though.
It’s not just their vehicles. I just bought a ‘24 Ioniq 5, and Hyundai is set to start sending out free adapters to use Tesla Superchargers, but I probably won’t plug into one of those either, because it benefits that moronic man-child oligarch.
The rest avoid it because they're shit cars
25% of 800 U.S. citizens surveyed is not indicative of the entire country. Not only that, the original study release here (as far as I could find) doesn't state how or where the survey was conducted.
A survey done in California would be wildly different than one done in Mississippi. That article and this post are ethically dishonest, and the study proves absolutely nothing.
My favorite are the bumper stickers that say "I bought this before I knew what he was like". Seen 3 or 4 now.
It's sad because behind this shitstain of a human being there are a bunch of actually intelligent people making electric cars and rockets who are having their intellect and effort overshadowed by an insufferable man-child.
lol, now ?
Also, only 25%?
Id say at least 25% of the people in the USA would genuinely either say "Who?" or not know/understand why he is relevant.
When it comes to Americans I never underestimate the ignorance level. Of "average" people.
Feels like too little too late, huh.
Planning to sell my model 3 as soon as I get my hands on either an Aptera or a Telo. Or if I win the lottery and get a Lucid.
Is Lucid going to remain in business?
I believe so. They just started shipping their electric SUV with about 450 miles of range and the Saudis keep giving them money. People seem to generally love their cars.
Does this 25% fall inside the venn diagram of people who can afford / would otherwise be buying Tesla products?
It's not like we are talking about pancake mix, it's $50k+ cars, with the biggest offenders (e.g. cyber truck) being 100k
I boycotted his crap before he got involved in politics. He’s always been an idiot.
For me it was him calling rescue workers pedophiles because they didn't want to stop their time sensitive rescue efforts to listen to his fantasies about building and deploying a submarine in a tiny underwater cave system.
I think that was the catalyst for a lot of people to realize who this loser actually was.
I heard 23%
Pretty sure it’s 26%
I most definitely don't like musk, don't want to support him, and don't have the money to get a car, but the biggest reason I won't even consider getting one is because of their abhorrent safety.
I’ve posted this before, but one of my favorite butterfly effect stories is that the famously under-regulating, and ethically dubious Elaine Chao let Tesla implement new driver control methods while she was Transportation Secretary, and a few years later the same sketchy controls helped to kill her sister (in addition to drunk driving).
I would imagine this number is actually higher.
