Down 2-1 in a five game series vs. the Aces, the Liberty had a huge chance to win a ring after a series of Aces injuries. In a one point loss, Stewart made just 3 of 17 shots from the field. Are there any comparable examples from history?

Seeing WNBA players get the type of hate that you typically see with NBA players is awesome to see.

That means the game is growing.

[–] MapleTheCat02@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

We hate them for basketball reasons now?

LeBron James having a mediocre Evan Turner performance against Dallas in Game 4, could've gone up 3-1 and sealed it

[–] Arooooooooooooooo@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Lebron threw that game. Didn’t want Wade getting FMVP.

[–] mrwhite2323@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Lebron took 09 mvp from wade and 2011 fmvp

Terrible best friend

[–] Himmy_Buckets22@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

and now Bron licking the boots of the Saudis who wouldn't even recognize Wade's trans child as human

[–] mrwhite2323@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Florida doesnt recognize Wades trans children either

Are you gonna denounce anyone taking American captalist money over Saudi Kingdom money?

Funny enough Angola also has things discriminating against LGTBQ people.

[–] Mister_Squibbles@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Bro d wade is signed with a chinese shoe line (li-ning) lol he doesnt give a fuck about where lebrons business partners operate. And i say this with d wade as my favorite player ever

[–] Himmy_Buckets22@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

did you just compare a shoe company to a government who had a journalist assassinated

She gotta get herself back to Seattle where the water is right for her

[–] randy88moss@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Probably Kobe in 2004….but even if he was regular Kobe….that Pistons team was destined to win it all that year

[–] CoffeeDrinker82@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wasn’t John Starks like 2 for 18 and 0 for 11 for FGs and threes respectively?

[–] Top-Consequence-911@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

An Embiid-like performance from the MVP. Still love her, though.

[–] xerxesthagreat@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (4 children)

john starks. not even the worst shooting game in new york bro went 2-18.

[–] electricHats75@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Starks was a superstar? The 1 time all star?

Sad that this happened to him after he was one tipped shot away from winning it all for the Knicks in the game prior.

stewie lost them that series overall, she got outplayed by the player who was in conversation and competition with you for MVP.

[–] RansomGoddard@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

She had been really bad for most of the playoffs tbh.

She had a 5 inch heigh difference. Even though she was struggling, her shooting over clark would be the best shot. But the clear difference was the guard play from this game. The aces guard were more aggressive going to the rim

[–] FlipMoBitch@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Sabrina and Sloot apply zero rim pressure it’s very frustrating

[–] Jakanzi@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (4 children)

Kobe's first half in game 7 of the 2010 finals was the worst basketball I've ever seen him play. I think there were two plays where he just dribbled the ball off his leg out of bounds or to the back court completely unforced.

[–] SpaceCowboy170@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Others are saying it but he compensated for his poor shooting with great rebounding and defense, and managed to get to the line a lot

Kobe has had some bad performances in the playoffs and finals here and there, but this isn't really one of them if you take into account the broader context of the game. Pretty much everyone shot like shit this game, it was a real grind offensively for both teams. Kobe found other ways to contribute in this game.

[–] draymond-@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (4 children)

lmao it's hilarious how Kobe's performances (rightfully) get afforded all the context in the world. Other stars (like Lebron, Steph, KD) don't seem to get this.

Fans still claim KD choked against Boston two years ago when in reality he took on a much heavier playmaking load in response to all the double teams.

That's not even the worst Finals performance by a New York player

Fraudulent MVP. WNBA needed a Perkins to deny her the award

[–] Air4021@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

She's a worthy mvp and more, but darn, I was hoping she'd show out tonight. Big fan of hers.

[–] AShinyTorchic@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fellow New Yorker John Starks

They still won though dumbass

[–] dragonrider5555@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Holy hell that air all at the end lol. I thought the aces were unraveling but damn that air ball.

Imagine if this was an NBA MVP. But then again the WNBA gets little coverage so I don’t expect her to get much hate

[–] Himmy_Buckets22@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

2011 Lebron

[–] RVAIsTheGreatest@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (4 children)

Ewing was abysmal for most of the 94 finals. He needs to get way more criticism that he's received by Knicks fans and fans in general. It's not fair Starks gets all the criticism. And then the missed layup by Ewing too in 95. He was not clutch.

[–] SolarPoweredDevil@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Westbrook shot 4-20 in an elimination game. Harden shot 2-10 in the game before that to waste a 43 point Westbrook game. Harden also shot 2-10 in the game before that to a blow a game where they held the Heat to only 91 points.

[–] pointguard22@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

All her shots were short- I think she’s injured

[–] Boomhauer_007@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (7 children)

I know it’s not the finals but it’s still funny that Harden shot 2-13 from 3 in a game 7 where the team missed 27 consecutive 3s

Kobe had a finals game against the Pistons in 2004 where he put up 4 baskets on 13 shots for 11 points.

They just won the title and we’re shitting on her? She got them there and as ugly as it may have been, a title is a title at the end of the day.

Congrats to Stewart and the Aces

[–] mercfan3@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (8 children)

People who don’t watch the WNBA need to understand that Stewie is truly the KD of the WNBA.

I love KD. Extremely talented and had a skill set at his height that was unique.

But KD doesn’t want to be the leader of his team. He deferred to Westbrook, Curry, Kyrie, and now is doing so with Booker.

He wants to play, he doesn’t want the running a team/leadership elements the best player typically takes on.

Stewie is the same way. At UConn she played with at least 6 other All Americans her whole career. She was never the leader of the team. The most talented. Yes. Best player. Yes. But it wasn’t her team.

She went to Seattle; was successful..but that was Sue Bird’s team.

Sue retires, and she immediately goes to New York - Sabrina’s team. Sloot comes in. Another MVP in Jones come in.

Story of Stewie’s career. When she wins, it’s always dominant and it’s always with someone else doing the leading.

This time, Sabrina was too young, Sloot too old. And Stewie struggled because of it.

Great player, a lot of skills and talent. But she’s completely like KD..and for me that keeps her out of the GOAT convo.

He outshot and outscored all of those guys (besides Booker) in practically every series they played together...
