nah. he's got no chance. the only reason he's on the rockets is because he was a problem in cleveland.
NBA - Main
Game analysis, highlights and everything else that is happening in the NBA.
Yeah even if you set the off-court stuff aside and just look at it through the soulless eyes of a front office, he’s still a problem in the locker room consistently it seems.
its not like hes banned from the NBA. He can play now if a team signs him.
But this is just one of many red flags around KPJ thats circulated ever since he's entered the league. No team wants to deal with that level of head case.
hornets says hello
Victims recant all the time.
I remember that episode, that was the Ray Rice one right?
How are people finding out about that now? It's been known for decades, even Rihanna defended Chris Brown.
It feels like that was a mutually abusive relationship
Only one sent the other to the hospital.
Rihanna propably knows better about her relationships than you.
Victims of abuse are the least reliable people to speak on the character of their abusers until the abuser is behind bars.
This is so dumb, a 12 year old from Sweden or somewhere demands the authority over the relationships of complete strangers.
This is laughable.
It’s Reddit. Most of these dudes hate women to begin with. They know KPJ is a POS but they see a little bit of themselves in him.
he’ll probably be back in 1-2 years lol shit sad but that’s how it is.
Lol even if its true he still can play in the NBA. A crime doesnt deletes you from of society, no matter how many nephews disagree with it.
Half of them will commit a crime and still keep on working.
What happens with Porter is in the hand of the law, not the NBA.
no, everyone knows he hit her
Look - if your spouse is almost not earning millions alongside of you, they're going to naturally reach that phase of ".....maybe I should just stay quiet until X"
Yet, they may NEVER reach that date in life as domestic abuse can turn deadly - or even suicidal for the abused party.
It's up to the DA to figure this one out, but I never take these things lightly.
Someone will give him a chance if they think he's worth the risk - see Bridges and Primo getting back into the league.
But in the case of KPJ he's had multiple incidents since he entered the league, on both of the teams he's been with.
Of course everyone in this comment section is going to say no he has no chance because redditors love a witch hunt lol
He'll be fine but it might take a few years for his reputation to recover
A player with as many off the court issues as him will never reach a consistent high. It will never be worth it. USC, the Cavs, and the Rockets all used team resources to get him help and it ended up with him burning bridges in crazy incidents.
More than likely he's going to have to prove himself overseas first. I think he would've been seen as a more valuable player if he had played in the SG position off the bench. He was one of the more reliable shooters on the Rockets - especially at catch & shoot 3s. But after watching two years of him learning the point guard position, most assume that he's not very good and is not worth the drama that comes with him.
Medical examiner has ruled Kysre's neck injury wasn't caused by KPJ and is congenital.
Yes, it's possible, if he's cleared. But his road will be harder than Primo or Bridges because he has history. He's also not as good a player as Bridges is. Is he worth a contract with the history he has? That's the calculus teams will be making so his career is absolutely on the line right now but if he's cleared, it is possible.
The thing is this is not one isolated case, this is just the first one people found out about.
Dude is a POS and I’m sure there are loads of stories that his former teammates could tell.
