Best at guarding themselves would be the defensive stars with no offensive bag (ie Gobert, Draymond)
NBA - Main
Game analysis, highlights and everything else that is happening in the NBA.
Idk thinking more about it Trae is one of the few people Trae wouldn't get bodied by and with the quickness to match. Could be interesting tbh
Dame vs Dame and Curry vs Curry would be awesome to watch because it would just be unstoppable offense. Where as Gobert (not really a star) vs Gobert would be horrible. Consistently locked down, his best bet would be to try and make a 3 despite not being good at that.
Gobert vs Gobert ends 0-0
Maybe someone makes a FT
Mitchell cooks Mitchell too
Trae would get wrung like a towel
Trae would put 80 on Trae.
Which star guard wouldn't?
But yeah Trae is up there.
Jrue would clamp Jrue
SGA would make life difficult for SGA.
Idk I’m always betting on Trae in that situation
ben vs ben will never reach the final score
JJJ would foul out twice as fast guarding himself due to combination of offensive and defensive fouls.
I'm genuinely not sure if you mean Simmons or Wallace. It applies to both tbh.
I haven’t watched any Nets games this pre-season. Has his defense looked elite still or is his timing still of a little
Dennis Rodman
Allen Iverson
Old school but Jordan was a super competitive and athletic defender.
It's 30 years later and that's exactly where my head went instantly. I still actively pay attention to NBA basketball, but no one sprang to mind first. Then I thought Shaq vs. Shaq. Then Paul George.
It would easily be the most entertaining of all these options. 89 Jordan vs himself would be straight electric.
LeBron is the perfect LeBron stopper
Current LeBron is a lot better offensively than defensively though
Still c
LeBron is the perfrct Lebron stopper, but I don't think he would ever have been able to stop himself.
Maybe 12/13 Lebron vs rookie or current Lebron
Depending on your definition of star, Gobert has the worst offensive skillset while possessing the best defensive skillset, so he'd be pretty good 1v1 mirror matchup. The most troublesome could be Kyrie or Luka, some really crafty offensive savant that mimics a traffic cone on defense.
Andre Roberson would never come close to scoring
Bit of a stretch calling him a star player.
I missed that it had to be a star player
Kendrick Perkins vs Kendrick Perkins would be hilarious
Made me think of Space Jam when Charles Barkley lost all his skill
Anthony Edwards vs Anthony Edwards would just be insane
dunks, threes, steals, blocks
sign me up
Kawhi/Paul George
Also Pat Bev lol
If you give Giannis a month to train with Giannis he’d become the most skilled iso player
That's some 2100s technology lmao - have a robot mimic a player's tendencies
Kyrie Luka trey would have a lot of trouble
I think Joel Embiid could easily lock down Joel Embiid in the Playoffs.
Rudy Gobert would lock down Rudy Gobert
Ja blowing by himself but then getting blocked from behind by Ja would be an amazing sequence.
I dont consider them a star but for some reason they won DPOY so I am going with Marcus Smart. He is bad offensively but great defensively. He is dirty as fuck but the refs seem to give him a pass so he would probably get a few nut shots in on himself.
If you consider gobert a star he’d have the easiest time ever guarding his trash offense.
JT is definitely up there
Tony allen would absolutely lock himself up
Westbrook vs Westbrook has to be full court 1V1. Will be the most exciting, chaotic game ever
Harden vs Harden would have so much offensive and defensive foul baiting it would be hilarious.
After each shot both would be on the ground and start talking to the official when they got up.
Giannis guarding Giannis would be pretty awesome
Both Lebrons would flop in an eternal loop
Bam would hold bam to under 8ppg
Even if they’re not playing with a dribble count, I’m not sure if Matisse Thybulle could get past 3 dribbles
Dray vs Dray would be absolutely horrible to watch, and at the same time awesome because we know Dray is locking himself tf up.
Literally any player who is better at defense than offense.
That said, I believe Mikal Bridges’ could put up some points on Mikal Bridges with his improved scoring ability.
Gobert would never score on himself
Trae would never get a stop on himself
AD could probably defend himself pretty well.
