There's an infinite number of things you can do with creative lighting and tabletop setups. One of my professors Carl Chiarenza has done book after book of really interesting work just with things like paper, foil, and pieces of metal and wire.
Photography
A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.
This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.
Get the hell off Reddit. This is nothing. It’s a crutch. You don’t need inspiration. You just need a camera in your hand and a creative eye.
Yeah, silly me, how dare I want something like community. I guess I should just sit in my house alone all day, right? 🙄
Isn’t that what you’re already doing lol?
Simply start taking picture. Look for shadows and highlights in rooms when the sun shines through the window at an interesting angle, food shots, patterns, etc. Take pictures of the dull suburb area and artfully compose whatever item you are taking pictures of. Look towards the grown for reflections in puddles, mushrooms, or textures. Drag the shutter, zone focus, try unconventional compositions.
Even if you have no motivation, if you start taking pics and commit to 30 exposures before you stop (per day) then you'll eventually start refining your process.
This will also help keep you reflexive with your camera.
Some photographers, like William Eggleston, spent a lifetime taking of taking pics of his life--ended up being a lecturer and featured in MOMA. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Eggleston
To me, this guy is an inspiration -- he persisted with his fascinations by drawing off of whatever was within reach at any given moment and is now a living legend.
I try to use it as a reason to get out of the house and get to the park. But yeah, winter can be slow. Try and mix it with some other hobby.
My roomie is into Warhammer and often paints minis in the winter leaving them sitting out on display, so doing stuff with those can be kind of fun. Maybe pick up some hot-wheels or green army men and do diorama shots or something.
I went a long time to a graveyard to take pictures of birds. Not much people over there, plus beatyfull birds and flowers.
