lmao why so mad? I simply just posted facts. Im not implying anything other than I think Maxey is a similar comp to Lillard aka a lillard lite. Thats literally it.
We will find out how good Maxey really is when he’s guarded by the #1 wing defender instead of the #2 or 3 this year.
And I think Maxey will be good. But he won’t ever be peak Dame good.
Absolutely not implying that, I just have a really hard time comparing Maxey to other players and truly understanding his value. Lillard lite is the best I could come up with, was hoping this would spark convo on other comparisons, instead everyones butthurt.
You missed a number that explains a significant difference between who they are as players, the percentage of their shots that are assisted. What makes Dame so valuable is his ability to create his own looks. Dame has averaged 20% of his 2PA being assisted, and 46% of his 3s over his career. Maxey in comparison has 43% of his 2s and 73% of his 3s assisted.
10 years ago there were 19 players scoring 20ppg and league average TS% was 53%. League average offensive rating was 106
This last year there were almost 40 players scoring 20ppg and league average TS% was 58%. League average offensive rating is 114
