Hakeem won two rings in the weakest era of basketball (90s without Jordan) and would likely be ringless if Jordan never retired.

Plus he won a ring as a 6 seed (which people see as a good thing for some reason) making his championship team one of the worst in history (again, in the weakest era of basketball).

This might be the dumbest post I've seen all off-season.

Congrats 👍

Lol have you seen the posts that have been on here? This doesn't even crack the top 25

[–] TheRealJohnMara@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This is the reason the phrase "There's no such thing as a stupid question" isn't accurate.

[–] SnooGuavas650@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The amount of legacy and comparison posts lately is crazy.

No he is not even close in any category other than rings and winning a 2nd is no guarantee.

You are aware that hakeem went to finals in mid 80’s and lost to one of the greatest teams ever in the ‘86 Celtics?

He’s not a by product of a weak era. He peaked at right time but plays great in any era. ‘95 Orlando was pretty good too.

Who tf thinks the mid 90s was weak?

Bulls, Rockets, Jazz, Blazers, Sonics, Knicks, Suns, Magic and Pacers were all stacked as shit teams.

All those who said no did not watch Hakeem. He's like Kevon Looney with Brook Lopez offense.

Giannis is Better.

[–] gigglios@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Best team giannis has beaten in his playoff career are the kyrie celtics lol. Hakeem has beaten like 15 to 25 teams better than that.

[–] IHateYouKids@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Hell no.

Giannis is allowed to do things Hakeem wasn't and still isn't better. Not from a post, rebounding, or footwork, or passing perspective.

[–] xerxesthagreat@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

huge giannis fan. no.

[–] Actual_Ad_2801@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

With that logic does that mean MJ also played against the weakest era in basketball?

[–] drmr623@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No. Giannis needs another ring to be in the convo. Even then I would still rank Hakeem above.

[–] GenericDarkFriend@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Hakeem was better on both sides of the court come playoff time, giannis stans are nuts

[–] pokexchespin@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

bait used to be believable 🚬

I love Giannis I love his mentality is work ethic and his humbleness. I ain’t never seen anyone give shaq the straight business like Hakeem has. Hakeem gave everyone the business. Giannis still has awhile to go but at this present moment no he is not in Hakeem territory. That doesn’t mean he can’t get there. Giannis need to become a more consistent free throw shooter, and he needs an honest go to move because the euro step ain’t going to always do it. I hope working with Hakeem remedies this but we are about to find out what the student learned this year.

Hakeem is, at worst, top 3 best defensive player of the three point era, at worst (and it’s a stretch) top 5 defensive player of all time, arguably the best tough shot maker in history, and overall strong top 5 player all time.

So no, Giannis isn’t above him. I love Giannis, but no.

[–] PatNewbie@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Lol wait is this not a troll post??

[–] OkKindheartedness769@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Put the accolades and numbers aside (which all favor Dream anyway), Hakeem dominated an era full of HoF big men: Ewing, Admiral, Shaq etc while Giannis hasn’t even separated himself from Jokic
