Victor Wembanyama Current deal is for 4 years 12 Million but in 2026 I would not be surprised if he is given a super super max deal of 5 years 500 Million or even 5 years 80 Million with performance bonuses

Highly doubt we will see a 500mil+ contract in less than 3 years

If the cap continues to grow at the maximum 10% increase yearly then the cap will be ~200mil when Vic gets his next deal. If he qualifies for a Rose Rule max (30%, with 8% annual raises) he'll get ~350/5. This is the absolute max he can get under the current CBA which runs through '30 (with a '29 mutual opt out). His next deal after that is where he could get a supermax worth ~660mil if the leagues growth stays consistent and he qualifies.

He or anyone else from this draft class who meets the qualifications could be the first to sign 1 billion worth of contracts. Someone from the '21 or '22 class could actually earn 1 billion before or at least at the same time.

With inflation a billion will be more like a million soon...

If Luka keeps signing maxes when each contract ends, he'll get within a few million of $1B by 2036 (age 37) using the current cap projections, which possibly increase further with new TV deals. A couple league minimums after that and he's there.

I did the math several months ago, and posted it here but can't find it, but I remember that figure.

Might be unpopular right now since the hype train on Wemby has turned into a hype spaceship, but I don't see Wemby playing long enough to reach a billion with his build.

Children shouldn’t be allowed to post on here

The projected 27-28 cap would be about $188M. A 35% of cap "Rose rule" max would be $65M the first year, with up to 8% YOY raises, for five years.

At a 2.86 multiplier, in order for a player to have an $80M in a single year contract, the cap would have to be $228M. So... 9-10 years from now / next CBA it might be possible.
