Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

Moving out and finally experiencing childhood at 27.
Making friends.
My resolution for the new year was to be more social and it's going alright so far.
Re filling my emergency fund after buying my house. It's mostly depleted now, so I'm working on getting it back up!
Let's gooo! I have a very similar financial thingy scheduled for autumn this year, excited about that.
single digit TSLA
I feel like he's got a DOGE-requiring ace up his sleeve that will prevent that... but maybe in 2026!
If all goes well, I should get my permanent residency here in Japan in a couple more months; I'm just waiting on all the paperwork to get done (probably may-june).
I'm looking forward to eating fresh veg right off the farm, but that's not going to start super soon (well, from my own farm, anyway; some locals have hot-houses and are already producing various things).
I'm hoping to get my amateur radio license this year as well, but I don't really have much time to study (fulltime job + running a small farm business) so we'll see on that one.
Whats the Ham license exams like in Japan?
Still waiting for more info on it, not to mention games, but I'll almost certainly be buying a Switch 2.
Hopefully getting to eat again at certain local Mexican restaurants and playing games with friends. That's about it.
A heart attack.
You joke, but here's the thing... neither of the two heart attacks I had felt like heart attacks.
Thought the first one was just bad heartburn. Fought it for FIVE DAYS. In my defense, it started 3 days after Thanksgiving and I DID have that extra plate of sweet potatoes.
2nd one, I was just having a hard time breathing. No pain. At all. Doc had changed up my meds, sent me to the ER to get checked, had the heart attack IN the ER.
Feel something weird? Ask your doctor. Goes on for more than 24 hours? Get help ASAP. Don't do what I did.
Dude, that is rough. I’m 52, so very much in the killzone. 🙈 Glad you are OK, look after yourself!
Seeing my honey tomorrow.
Season 2 of the last of us.
I'm interested in seeing if Nightreign will be anything good since I didn't get into the play test and the only thing I've seen covering it are fairly biased. That's pretty much it for me.
