I should not have given my D90 away. It's a compact, light and flexible camera. Files aren't to big either. I wanted to go fullframe and carry a D610 now. I would never switch brand though.
Photography
A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.
This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.
They really nailed it with the D90. Top notch sensor, a top screen, AF drive and the body felt pretty good despite not being as rugged as the D300.

I kiiinda wished I’d stayed in the Canon family just for handling, feel, and what I preferred at the time for ease of use in focus. I love my Sony now but I feel like my favorite son died and I had to adopt a replacement that I just can’t love the same as my bio kid. I tell my A7R that I love him the same but…he knows.
I’ve never liked how big and bulky canon bodies are
Sony’s bodies are much Lighter / smaller. I dislike big heavy bodies.
I tried the Olympus OM D 10(?) or something like that and while weight and convenience were great, I just didn't like it. I really do not want to look at a screen to frame my shot, it's interpreted and I don't like it. I went back to my 5D/2 and picked up a 5DS/r and am happy again.
Not camera, but lens. I went from a sony 24-105 f4 g to the 24-70 f2.8 gmii. I'm having a horrible time getting sharp images; Only thing I can think of is the OSS + IBIS vs A7IV IBIS alone made far more of a difference than I assumed it would.
I used to be able to do 1/5 pretty consistently and 1/4 like half my shots would come out; now I'm struggling at 1/60 and even 1/125 :( and wondering if there's something wrong with my lens (Some shots do come out sharp so I assume it's me)
You had me at Lightroom’s rendering of xTrans files. Amid my Canon history a few years ago, I bought into Fuji and loved it until I processed. I tried ON and CaptureOne and others, but I wanted Lightroom.
I’ve had a dozen systems since 1976, preferring Canon 1Ds and 5D series for digital since 2006… until a year ago. I tried almost all the L series lenses and settled on a set of 9 Zeiss primes. Some love was lost as the kits got heavier. I moved to R5s for focus peaking but more love was lost, this time in rendering.
I sold off or gave away all the Fuji gear in the last year and finally moved to Leica. The M10m is a wet dream, and all the great glass made me get a M10r.
