Clients are not friends. Friends are not clients.
Choose which relationship you want it to be and act accordingly.
A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.
This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.
Clients are not friends. Friends are not clients.

It's water under the bridge. For me, next time I'd shoot what I want for me and let him do the same. I never photograph personally because someone's said 'you should take this'. That right is reserved for my wife (rarely).
just dont do it again and move on, you made the mistake of not communicating and these are the consequences
Were the photos of your friend? Or just generic shots? Would be funny if he claimed that he took the picture if he himself was in the picture.
Your friend sounds like a massive tool.
Never do free work for anyone. Would he do a free event for you?
If you were not a professional photographer, this question would not arise. People share photos of social occasions among themselves and use photos of them taken by others on social media. Only the most tactful (or aware of copyright law) ask for permission. I think you're overreacting.
As queen Elsa said… Let it go. Not worth the headspace
Let it go and don't take more pictures for him. Or jpg low. "Sorry, I didn't shoot RAW because we are on vacation"
You think you will generate leads or something from his holiday Instagram photos?
What are you trying to gain here by having him credit the photos is what you should ask yourself. I'd say nothing. It's just some vacation pics, let them post. All you can do is wreck your friendship. When me and my friends share vacation photos it's generally accepted that they can use them as they wish.
I'd put your energy into something you can actually gain from as professional photographer.
What an arrogant post. You gave your friend the photo so they can do what they want. Also they aren’t even making money off it so who cares.
