Can't fuckin wait for the next season next month. Apparently one of them will be a prequel to how humanity killed itself and

Tap for spoilerhow cats rule the earth.

[–] DashboTreeFrog@discuss.online 8 points 2 months ago

First I'm hearing about a new season, thanks for sharing!

[–] CheeseNoodle@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

iirc it was kinda hinted that maybe all the poor people got deported or something leaving the rich to die? I vaguely recall them mentioning something about ships in the last one where they found the rich people condos.

[–] DoucheBagMcSwag@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I.... think it's opposite

Global warming caused the world to end and the rich fled in ships thinking they could go elsewhere. The poor and everyone else was left behind to fend for themselves ....unclear if the rich actually escaped

[–] Xaphanos@lemmy.world 24 points 2 months ago

Those who do not learn to love one another will die.

When you look down at others instead of helping lift other up nobodt cares when you implode. I'm VERY sad for the regular non crazy american, you guys are the real victims.

[–] Montagge@lemmy.zip 18 points 2 months ago (2 children)

We've hsd a long time to fix things, but we chose to be "civil" instead.

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

The Neoliberals obsessed with civility are working for the same people the Republicans do.

Oooh what ballet/music will be played nationally when the us collapses?

It was swan lake for the USSR right?

I'm kinda hoping it's green day's American Idiot but that may be a bit on the nose

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 14 points 2 months ago

There is nothing on-the-nose enough that it won't be lost on at least 40% of us.

[–] PurpleTentacle@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

It'll more likely be a Kid Rock or Ted Nugent concert. Or simply five hours of topless Putin riding on a horse.

[–] blackstampede@sh.itjust.works 9 points 2 months ago

I vote "End of the Empire I-III" by Arcade Fire.

[–] Odo@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

According to Ted Turner, it's "Nearer, My God, to Thee".

Trump is a huge fan of Cats, so maybe they'll play that?

The over-reliance on "entrepreneurism" is what got us here, and the harping on it in this article irks me; other than that, it's a good read.

What comes next is Trump will go nuts and start walking around naked and MAGAts will celebrate by doing the same.

[–] einlander@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago

A 21st century retelling of "The emperors new clothes", where the emperor is also an influencer and sends people who warns about his nakedness to a dungeon in another kingdom.

I couldn't get very far through this briar-patch of buzz-words. But the collapse of the Soviet Union was brought about by material economic conditions, not by jumping up and down on their own dicks the way America is handling it.

I suspect the apt model for America's future is the British Empire.

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 17 points 2 months ago

material economic conditions, not by jumping up and down on their own dicks the way America is handling it.

Except the US is about to suffer those material economic conditions because they're jumping on their own dicks.

"Revenge" I believe is the correct word

[–] TheCriticalMember@aussie.zone 13 points 2 months ago

jumping up and down on their own dicks

Bravo sir.

What happened to the super rich people from USSR when it collapsed?

[–] raltoid@lemmy.world 33 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (2 children)

There weren't really many super rich people in the USSR. There were people with a lot of influence and power, who had nicer houses, better food, clothes, etc. but very few had a tons of money stashed away. You have to remember that Stalin and many of his followers viewed capitalism as the root of all evil and would imprison or kill rich people.

And many of those influential people used that power after the fall to become super rich by snapping up former state assets. Which is seemingly part of their current goal in the US: Isolate the country and destroy government assets to privatize them. Literally trying to recreate the situation that created the 90s Russian oligarchs.

[–] anachronist@midwest.social 14 points 2 months ago

Highly influential people who where loyal to Gorbachev: Purged and often imprisoned after the coup attempt.

Highly influential people who were loyal to Yeltsin: Oligarchs.

They literally bought the country from everybody else for scraps.

I sure hope so and hope its takes Israel, and a number of Arab governments, down with it. As someone who used to believe in the myth I am bitter and disgusted by what the US really is and always has been.

Ever read Walkaway by Cory Doctorow? I hope it's like that.
