If modern cars have (not) taught me, you don't need as many cylinders if you just slap a turbo in there

Didn’t he say earlier that this team was capable of winning the SB?

Cheers Geoff

Insert joke about Bryce Young not able to hit those cylinders.

It’s not easy to watch. Poor panthers fans..

He’s not wrong, shit is trash 😂😂

[–] MaSherm@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No cylinders were hit on in the making of this offense.

A shame 'cause Thielen has more in the tank than it appeared last year. Still the perfect sort of player for a rookie to have on the team but... yeesh.

WR Adam Thielen: “I’m honestly surprised they brought my old ass in to be the #1 WR”

What’re the odds we see Andy dalton start again this season?

I'd like to one day know the truth of whether the Panthers chose to hire a head coach Frank Reich who has coached quarterbacks with prototypical NFL QB height, only to disregard his wishes to draft CJ Stroud in favor of a quarterback who is Michael Vick's height without Michael Vick's insane athleticism.

But he said it was a SB contending team 😢

They already played their Super Bowl though so now it’s the off-season for them.

[–] DanCampbellsNipples@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Do they have any cylinders?

I heard a freakonomics podcast about the 49ers rebuild, and one thing I always remember from it is this. There is no penalty for being bad in the NFL. In something like the premier league, relegation exists. In the NFL, the penalty for being the worst team is the ability to draft the best player available coming out of college (except for the Panthers lol). That mixed with revenue sharing, in a league that posts growth year over year, buying an NFL franchise is just an asset that continues to appreciate no matter how bad you are. I don't know what it is that motivates some owners to want to win, but when it comes to the numbers all 32 are constant winners. I hope Tepper actually wants to win, because every fanbase deserves that.

Panthers are in a really rough spot with Bryce IMO. He hasn't shown much, especially when you kinda have to compare him to Stroud (although it's very funny Bryce won the H2H), but he doesn't have a lot of support there*.

*I don't really watch Houston so I'm not sure how much better Stroud's support is tbh.

It's no wonder when he can't even get the saying correct.

[–] mrb4@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Thought this said "all cylinders" to which my reply was "no shit" then I saw it said "any cylinders" and had a good chuckle.

[–] Tolve@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I didn’t know they had cylinders.

[–] sultan33g@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah and water is dry.

[–] HootSquat@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Bad receivers, bad O-Line play, average RBs, poor coaching and the QB might even be bad. What a mess

[–] bauboish@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Man I used to think Frank Reich's offense was pretty dope back when he first went to Indy. Now it look so outdated. No wonder he keeps asking for vet QBs at Indy. He needs the QB to bail out his offense and not for his offense to help out his QB.

[–] Dieh@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That’s the understatement of the year.

[–] SurlyWet@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Thielen should have gone to a winner. We need more of his clutchness.
