Title says it, DT700 out of the box working only left side. I checked all connections and did some research, apparently it's not that rare (shame on Beyerdynamic quality control).

But I tapped the right cup and it immediately started working. I doubt that's a permanent fix and I'd like to return it and get a new one, but I can't really prove that anything is wrong with it. What to do?

it 100% is not a permanent fix. i had a very simmiliar problem with my moondrop variations. get them replaced asap

Unfortunately it's not too simple where I live, I need to be able to show the defect in order to have a chance of getting a replacement.
