~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

Making things is expensive, you know? Small content creators like Disney and Paramount always struggle so much in that brave new world of the internet... 😢
Pepperidge farms remembers.
Unless the episodes are 90 mins long
Nah, they are going to be 35 minutes hour long episodes!
It's a bummer, but then Pike's story has an end we've been approaching. Albeit, it was something like 10 years total before his destined disaster, so there could have been a few more stories to tell. At least they have some time to try and wrap things up.
I'd rather them end cleanly with a clear story ending, than to continually stretch it out passed its welcome.
I'm just bummed that the Trek I love most is coming to an end. I have absolutely loved everything about it, even the musical episode (unpopular opinion, I know, but I was a theater kid). I would have adored 7 seasons and 3 movies, but I get that we knew the ending before it started.
Dude, we've been bff for 2 years now I think
A bummer? Sorry, but I’m solidly of the mind that they got exactly as many seasons as they should have, and that this is a good thing.
We’re no longer in the era of television with 22 episodes per season and seven or eight or nine seasons. Five seasons of the show feels like an excellent fit.
That may be true in general, but it's not a hard and fast rule. Do you really think Lower Decks was all tapped out? Another season or two would inevitably see them jumping the shark?
I get why seasons make more sense with 6-12 eps than 24, but I don't see why the number of seasons needs to be shorter as well.
I'm pretty happy with how Lower Decks ended with us wanting more instead of getting run into the ground. It's not so much tapped out as... Done. I think SNW will be too.
Yeah I'm happy with the ending too, but I just don't think having another season or two before that time would make me wish they had less of it.
The shows back in the day like TNG had some crap episodes here and there, but that's because they were rushing 26 episodes per season. It's not like all of season 7 was bad because they should've been done before that.
Am I missing something or arent we still waiting for a third season to release? How are we talking about season 5 already?
Contracts and budgets.
To be replaced with what? SNW was (is, for the time being) a great show and the torchbearer of the franchise IMO. For a time it looked like Paramount was finally righting the ship with SNW and LD, but now they’re both gone and they’re back to putting out dross like Section 31?
Paramount isn't doing so good atm, so I'd prepare for another ST drought unfortunately
Something that follows the terran empire's version of section 31.
Or an unironic version of Pog and Dar: Cop Landlords.
Or "Tribbles! You like tribbles!"
By ST Academy of course, are you not hyped by a whole new generation???
Ai generated shorts probably
Di you expect it to run forever? Sometimes stories are just done and told, dragging them.out would just hurt them.
That seems a good take if the show runners were making the call, but it sounds like it's not their call.
Also maybe if the viewership declined, but now is an odd time since they haven't had new releases to gauge viewership.
Sounds like either they have some other shiny things to direct money to or are suffering from lack of subscribers, perhaps in part due to not having a whole lot of new popular content.
So 46 episodes in total. Could have at least made it 47. 🙄
Great show, glad it well end before it turns to shit
5 seasons seems like a good run these days, but what's with the 5th being short? These seasons are short enough as it is.
Peak TV is long over.
It was predicted in TNG that TV will be gone in the 2040s
Sure it will be gone but not because there's something better but just because crap they pump out is tedious bolocks.
If it's not thr best thing ever on epesode 1 it's doomed
Bummed that it’s only six episodes but at least they can wrap up storylines, really hope we get a few more seasons of Prodigy as well.
I was looking for a point to cancel Paramount+. I guess I found it.
Aww it was so good
STD, and picard wasnt better off as far as quality goes. snw is just a step above them, no match for pre-jj abrams.
