Big yikes but I doubt that’s enough to get him cut

“Zay was in a custody drop-off with the mother of his child, who lives in Orlando,” 1010XL host Jeff Prosser said on air Tuesday. “She doesn’t live in Jacksonville, they don’t live together. From what I understand, Zay had the child. The mother was in town to pick up the child.

“They got into an argument, a verbal argument, and during the course of the argument before it subsided, Zay reached and grabbed a piece of jewelry that he had given her that was hanging around her neck and ripped it off her neck. It left a mark, she called the police, domestic violence charges were brought.”

Bro was just trying to reenact that scene from ATL lol

Well in the hearing, it was stated by Hank Coxe, Zay’s attorney, that Zay had purchased the BM a house for her in Orlando.

I think it’s fair to say he’s doing just as you are asking. He then made a REALLY dumb and (by the letter of the law) illegal decision during a child custody swap. Once 911 was called, his ass was grass. IMO, he’s already paid for the dumb decision enough.

Win the Super Bowl and drive off in a Hyundai

[–] Pppanda72@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Zay still should’ve walked away from the situation entirely but people last night were completely overreacting and acting like Zay beat the shit out of someone. This is why you should wait until all of the details come to light but this is Reddit after all and people just want to drop hot takes to farm imaginary internet points.

[–] BarrysBunions@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

True. But tyreek did beat the shit out of a woman and everyone is just like “oh my gosh he’s sooooo fast and sooo good at sports ball let’s put him in a commercial 🥹.”

I’ll be honest, ripping a necklace you paid for off a woman who is probably antagonizing the shit out of you is pretty benign. I can only imagine what horrible shit she was saying, being someone who has been in a relationship with a woman before. Gotta keep your cool tho. And watch where you put your dick. “Hell hath no fury” and yada yada.

They really gotta start handing out vouchers for free vasectomy’s at the college athlete level.

[–] JohnnySnark@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

NIL vasectomy deals

What a stupid discourse. Violently ripping off a woman’s necklace in front of her children is psychopath behaviour. Especially if you’re a professional level athlete. It was probably an expensive ass thick necklace if it left some damage over her neck.

I get that he didn’t beat the crap out of her but it doesn’t change the fact that he’s violent and mentally unwell (from his past hotel incident). He should be suspended for a few games.

[–] Wabbit_Huntin@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Nah I went to college with Zay n spent a decent amount of time around him in class and out. He’s definitely not a violent guy. He’s pretty squared away and particularly well spoken. He’s dad kept him in line at ECU. Can’t speak for the hotel situation on his behalf, but if I had to guess I’d say drugs because that was more so humiliating.. This isn’t any excuse for his behavior but he’s not a psycho..emotional? maybe

[–] vagrantwade@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I’m going to need you to cite your psychological study papers that say ripping a piece of jewelry you bought off an ex means you’re a psychopath lol

Found Hammurabi’s account

[–] The_Wata_Boy@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This should be a good reminder to all athletes that you should always use protection. Dude gonna lose his career cause him and baby momma don't get along.

[–] The_Epic_Ginger@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This is the DV equivalent of calling a roughing the passer when the defenders hit them .1 seconds after the ball is thrown.

[–] The_Epic_Ginger@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I see why it's a penalty by rule, but it's still a ticky tacky call and these cops need to let them play

[–] superstarrr99@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

On the scale of DV incidents, this one ranks really low. And no, not every person who grabs a necklace will eventually escalate to bashing someone’s face in. So stop with that.

Never have kids, never get married.

[–] TMac1088@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Following my first shift at my first ever job (I was 14 or 15, bagging groceries), I got a cab home after.

Entire ride, the drive is arguing with a woman on his phone. We pull into my driveway just as he hangs up.

He looks at me through the rearview and says, "Do yourself a favor, kid. Always wear a jimmy hat"

How about, get married if you want, if you and they are emotionally mature. Then, if you want, decide to have kids if you're emotionally mature.

Dumb, but honestly pretty small compared to what some people do

Zay Jones was arrested for Domestic Battery when he allegedly snatched a chain off his ex's neck leaving a scratch-like mark.

Florida's battery statute is all-encompassing and extremely broad in the contact that it prohibits.

Let's be honest, while he may have been in the wrong, he pulled an Aquib Talib. Hopefully the case gets swiftly and amicably resolved.

I hope the powers that be realize that getting arrested, spending a night in jail, and getting embarrassed in front of all to see is ample punishment for the "crime" that has been alleged.

He should focus on his knee, his family, and his own well-being . Also - he should get ready to ball out the rest of the season.

[–] yaprettymuch52@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

didnt he have an arrest after his rookie year where he almost killed himself and was on the roof naked of some hotel

[–] nooo82222@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

His baby mama going fuck up her child support. I know he probably pays thousands. It takes two to argue but if someone paying me a lot of child support , my ass ain’t fighting with you.

Take my chain , just keep the check coming. C

Nothing like a 8-150-2td to rehabilitate his image.

[–] RememberThis6989@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

why cant these fools just behave

[–] Temporal_Enigma@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Y'all remember when Zay Jones had a complete mental breakdown a few years ago, which led to him leaving Buffalo?

[–] Agentwise@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Hopefully it’s nothing big and just a small case of him sexually assaulting 30 separate women.

[–] NagasakiPork1945@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Can’t do that but at least he did not beat her up or something, I’m sure he regrets it for something so little and in the moment.
