This is based on Goya's famous painting "Saturn Devouring His Son", if anyone was wondering.
One of my favorites. I wish we knew if that's really what he intended to depict - people just guessed.
I dunno, I think that's part of the magic of the Black Paintings. To me, what makes them truly unsettling (in the best way) is the fact that he painted them exclusively for his own desire and that we're limited to guessing the subject matter (which, although ambiguous, was undoubtedly dark).

I never heard about how it was made before and that really changed how I view the work.

This is a really good reference to classical Roman mythology. Something that the US government usually appreciates.

Huh, neat. I tend to believe it is anyways with that previous sketch and simply belonging to under the umbrella of Romanticism but there's some solid points there against it.
Just the point that the buttocks are too round to fit a typical male depiction is pretty compelling.
Just worth pointing out: three of the five children eaten by Saturn(Cronus)were women, and the very first was Vesta(Hestia).

I would have Trump raping the Statue of Liberty for both the truth and shock value.
