They got him to sell tickets, he’s a fun player

I'm available for tanking at an even higher salary 👌
Wizards got a winning mentality with Kuzma and Poole. What's there to dislike?
Might as well let Johnny BBall Davis get those minutes for waaaaay cheaper
most non casuals knew he was gon be tank commander
Did anyone not know this? We were already calling him tank commander in the off-season.
Dude you're a genius.
Damn, thats some 4d chess the Wizards are playing. Its like Draymond getting a 5 games suspension saves the Warriors $2.5 mils in tax.
I have witnessed first hand the Wizards tanking power just a few days ago, and it is impressive. Somehow Raptors came back from a 20pts deficit in the 4th quarter
Was anybody under a different impression? When the trade went down seemed like most people saw this as the Wizards getting their tank commander with slight potential upside as an asset flip.
Not to mention we got Warriors 2030 1st Rounder.
It’s protected but it’s still a 1st
Look at albert einstein over here
They already sucked at least now they can be in the lottery and get some talent.
Well that’s dumb, surely they don’t think it will be simple to move off of that albatross contract?
no way bro
They are trying to rehab his value so they can flip him a year or so down the road. You gotta spend money on somebody so might as well kick the tires on a young player.
The wizards have been losing too long to only now start to tank. When have they ever been good? They had Michael Jordan on the roster and didn’t make the playoffs. They should relegate this franchise to the g league and get a team in that actually wants to try this tanking shit is embarrassing and terrible for the nba as a whole
didnt they lose beal and kp? they were 12th in the east with them, no way poole was going to make them better
They didn't need to add him to tank.
tell us something we don’t know
Suck and see if he can develop. He’s a talented player that needs to clean it up. Worth a shot, nothing to lose.
The option was have beal pay him 50 mill a season and still be out of the playoffs the next 5 years or Poole and somewhat make a young team
This isn't some groundbreaking idea OP. You essentially just described the idea of a tank commander
Did they? I don't know if wizards have a purpose or goal in any of the things they do
New ex OKC guys in front office absolutely have a goal?
You’re assuming this is the same crappy management we’ve had for 20 years and not brand new people who know how to tank and collect assets.
Do any wizards fans believe Jordan Poole is the future?
I mean he might have to be until the last year or two of his contact
He's an entertaining player to watch. He's like if you handed J.R Smith or Nick Young the keys to a franchise.
You're not going to win shit, but the memes and highlights, both good and bad, will be legendary.
Poole is best suited as a microwave scoring role player. He filled that role pretty well for the dubs because they had a roster around him that could cover his weaknesses (being one of the worst and laziest defenders in the league and dribbling the ball off his foot every other possession).
But if you are signing him as a cornerstone or leader of a franchise, you are developmentally disabled, to put it kindly.
hahahahahahaha, oakland here. we had mr nick Y for a year here, omg what a one-man clown car of a bad season he had. just painful.
Is Ron Holland really good? We already have Kuzma.
Two points is not two points. I’ll explain it to you later.
Did literally anybody ever think otherwise?!?
And, while they were at it, got rid of maybe the worst contract in NBA history (Beal with his NTC.)
You can't tell me their locker room doesn't have a hotline directly to FanDuel's Chief Executive Bookie
Jordan Poole joined the Wizards to tank
higher salary floor in the new CBA working as intended
Dad, lets get you back go bed…
Lets be clear, they didn't need him to tank, that was going to happen either way. And I doubt they feel the need to have someone to point to as a sign that they are actually trying, and even if they did Kuzma already fills that role. Poole was a strategic move to see if they could buy low and sell high on a guy that is clearly talented but not living up to his talent. Unfortunately for them he's been too much of a dummy to take advantage of this situation and lost more value if anything.
They needed him to fill the salary floor. You need to find high paying guys to meet the floor and still suck enough to tank. Can't just be 15 min salary players.
