Some quotes:

SAN FRANCISCO — After their fifth consecutive loss, the Warriors locker room was jarringly empty. No bowed heads and brooding moods to be found. No sulking. No visible signs of frustration. No people. Nearly an hour after their latest Chase Center thud, a 128-109 drubbing Thursday at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder, most of the players were on the practice court.

An unofficial players meeting seemed to be taking place, enough for the Warriors to close the view of their weight room and practice court with a black curtain. But balls were bouncing. Weights were clanking. Music was playing. And a collection of players were huddled on the court. In the middle was Stephen Curry, his yellow hoodie easy to spot. Chris Paul was in it. Jonathan Kuminga. Gary Payton II, one of the few already fully dressed.

In times like these for the Warriors, one of the best people to hear from is Kevon Looney, who keeps it realer than a hundred-dollar bill with the line across.

“I wouldn’t say I’m worried,” Looney said, pausing at his locker before pulling his shirt over his head. “Ahhh, I guess you can say worried a little bit because you can’t be losing games like this at home. I think we’ve got enough to be good but we‘ve got to figure it out.”

....

Sources in the locker room said Green apologized and displayed contrition. He told the team his intentions were pure — protecting his teammate — but he took it too far.

“It’s something we are working hard on behind the scenes,” coach Steve Kerr said. “Draymond has to find a way to not cross the line. And I’m not talking about getting an ejection or getting a technical, I’m talking about a physical act of violence. That’s inexcusable. We have to do everything we can to give him the help and assistance he needs to draw that distinction.”

Now apologize to Rudy lol

[–] Impressive-Theory-27@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

That’s such a response a small child has when they constantly break rules. What’s next? Sorry I stabbed someone I just saw red and took it too far to protect a teammate (I don’t actually think he’d stab someone before some people get in their feels)

A lot of you need to get over getting bullied in middle school. It was two years ago. Move on.

[–] goshaigo@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Pure as the driven snow. He purely wanted to hurt someone.

[–] Rkenne16@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Then he stone cold stunned Kuminga and sprayed 2 beers all over himself

At a certain point it's just clear that Draymond can't control his emotions and this is who he is. This aside, the Warriors look awful and I don't expect much out of them this year

[–] abc4357@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

“Hey god, it’s me again” looking ass

[–] NAACP_YoungBoy@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

It’s ok Draymond we forgive you!

[–] limbtz@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

What's the chance of him apologise to Rudy?

[–] cough_landing_on_you@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

If they were winning, they would somehow claim Green motivated his teammates and no apologies would have been needed.

[–] Outrageous-Salary969@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I did it because I love you.

[–] Live_Investigator414@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Total BS, drammonds a clown.

[–] CoaxHoax@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I hope he doesn't take his issues outside the court

[–] Dame2Miami@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Should’ve forced his retirement considering his history. 5 game suspension is nothing.

[–] KyrieLS777@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I feel like Draymond needs therapy. He’s like a Chihuahua.

[–] IMDove@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

He acts without consequences in mind. I wish it was longer. Suspend him a year and he’ll behave.

[–] NJ_Citizen@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Hurt people hurt people

[–] Tapprunner@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I'm sure he'll apologize the next time, too.

[–] WhoopingKing@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

pure intentions OK lol

[–] butterbeancd@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Damn, the Thunder cause their second players-only meeting already this season?

[–] Virtualinsanity27@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

The jerk store just ran out of Draymond

[–] PooperJackson@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Warriors PR dept been working overtime these past few days it seems

[–] Ok-Guidance-2112@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Fuck Draymond, his intentions was getting a cheap shot on a guy he has beef with. Also who gives a shit what the warriors locker room thinks about this issue, they have shown for years they will gargle donkey's balls no matter what he does.

[–] gochuuuu@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Did he apologize to rudy?

[–] ThonThaddeo@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Such a pure soul

[–] Brb_32@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

With all due respect, it's on the coaching staff and front office to sort this stuff out. If despite their best attempts Klay and Wiggins are not able to play on the level that they're expected to, then the onus is on the coach to make the necessary adjustments and even further on the FO for potential trades (which is very unlikely that they do trade Klay for instance but still).

You can't be wasting your once in a generation if not a lifetime player's potentially last years at the peak of his powers. There are 30 teams in NBA and many of them go a decade without staying relevant for rings because they don't have a player of that calibre.

So have all the player meetings you want or need but let's not forget that the responsibility lies elsewhere.

And obviously it's not as bad but bulls had a players meeting after their first season game as well, and now see where they have landed. I hope warriors don't come to that but that all depends on how the following weeks or months are handled by all of the players, coaches and the Front office.

First... First you're just angry.... Then you ask yourself, why.

[–] StuffLeft6116@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Purely bitch made.

[–] WarcraftFarscape@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Literally nobody believes this except a delusional green stan

[–] CptnAhab1@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Well, maybe if you didn't have Draymond going HAM trying to defend the washed Klank Thompson, this wouldn't have happened.

[–] trav-senpai@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Just wanted to protect his teammate from what thousands of others could clearly see as a “peacemaker” in the situation. What a hero.

[–] noelparisian@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Fuck this access journalism crap running interference for abhorrent player behavior. Why does this sub allow shit like this? Why are we as fans OK with this?

[–] Statalyzer@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Guys was trying to break up a fight. How is helping a fight to NOT get stopped "protecting" anyone?

[–] atouchoutofplace@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Well according to Kerr, the letter of the law is that you ONLY separate your teammate. Steve knows all the basketball codes so I trust his judgement.

[–] pantpiratesteve@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

My pure heart caused me to drag him by his neck

[–] No_Brilliant5888@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Draymond Green is like the IDF

[–] tickub@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I'll believe it when I see the documentary.

[–] king_carrots@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Looking forward to the documentary

[–] RuthlessMercy@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

so he lied to them too lmao

[–] empowered676@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

No one cares lol

[–] Single_Minute2829@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

It’s pretty ridiculous how privileged Draymond is in that organisation. I bet you if one of their younger players stood up to Draymond and his BS, Draymond would just lay them out with zero punishment. Draymond is a hall of famer, but he owes it all to his daddy Curry.

[–] DoloTy@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

If that was anybody else would draymond have went for the rear naked choke ? Say Steven adams

[–] Efficient_Art_1144@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I won’t believe this until I see it in a self-produced mini documentary about Draymonds struggles

[–] RandomStranger79@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I don't care what Green says to his teammates until he's called Gobert and offered a contrite apology.

[–] financial_goth@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Why does Draymobd have stories like this put into the media pretending he's sorry? Like dude is clearly never sorry and always does shit on purpose. Saying "I'm sorry I feel bad" time and time again when you never actually mean it...what do they call that? Oh right a liar, Draymond is a liar.

Nobody believes him and he just comes off looking like more of a clown everytime one of these puff pieces comes out.

[–] davemoedee@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Draymond is a violent person. Look at his face while he was choking Gobert. The sport has praised him too much for his violence and then penalizes him for what they deem unacceptable expressions of the same violence. A lot of mixed messages. Even worse, you have these idiot commentators that romanticize players getting assaulted on the court. It is a workplace. Players shouldn’t have to worry about whether someone will take a cheap shot. If guys get run out of the league for anger issues, so be it.

[–] Uk_KingsStar@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

buuuulllshiiiiit. draymond doesn’t apologize and mean it
