Tudor is financially mindful but Rolex isn’t? They’re like 10% difference in price on the low end. Wtf.
Also gotta stop with the blowing of Casio and Timex. I get they provide decent watches for low price, but bang for your Buck isn’t everything.

grand seiko is called grand seiko because it costs over a grand for a seiko
Where is Armitron? They're the little still American watch brand that often can.
I know actual upper-middle class professional people. Know what they wear? Stuff like low-end Timex and low-end Citizen. They'd find a low-end Tissot extravagant, and have no idea what is more expensive than a Rolex.
Perfect
Hublot amongst Gucci and invicta? Oh come on mate lol.
This is genuinely the worst list I’ve ever seen on any topic ever, impressive
Wow! Thank you for the words.
Pandemic bubble—overall good to echo some of my purchases and some made me think more. How I bought and what I bought back in these years past has changed. The spell has receded in the rear view mirror and cash is dear again. The endorphin hit can be examined — travel and living costs are soberly compared to buying another watch. Won’t buy a Rolex now any more than I could get a Calatrava grail. It may not be about the price but that fiscal sanity is solidly back to make it a sharp sting.
Fiscal responsibility can't be overstated in current economic environment!
I almost completely agree, great list.
but your AP and RM placement choice is baffling. Those two definitely need to be swap
Also, gotta be honest, Invicta pro diver is one of the best watches you can get for the money. A classic diver silhouette with a tank nh35 movement for under $100? Can’t beat it.
Seems to be a bit of snobbery around Invicta. Seem to be much bigger in the US than elsewhere and their playing around with discounts gets them a bad wrap, but otherwise it seems to attack undue attention. I wonder why.
I wonder how you separated Zenith from JLC, IWC, and GO. To me they're similar tiers of watchmakers that all bring some interesting things to the table, at a relatively similar price tier. They probably compare fairly closely to Omega's offerings too.
So what I’m hearing is I should just buy that timex expedition north field solar watch with a sapphire crystal for like $150
As an upper middle class professional who owns an Oris and Tudor I applaud this list.
200k/year is "middle class" in this sub?
That’s top quintile nationally.
Bummed not seeing Luminox
Omega and rolex are the same brand
Way too much focus on “how you will be perceived by others” that other subreddit is going to love this…
I think Tissot has to be bang for back along with Hamilton etc. the PRX and new Chemin Des Tourelles, Le Locle, Gentleman ie powermatic 80s etc., have stepped things up a notch.
I don't know what's more bizarre, this weird tier list watch recommendation thing for charitably minded individuals or the fact that people are genuinely responding to this post.
What’s the current discount on Breitlings?
Ranking / classifying watch brands - what a brilliant and fresh idea!
Hublot’s official slogan might as well be “for the Saudi prince with more money than taste.”
Whoever put this list together is clueless. Brand perception and cost with Grand Seiko? Lmao
