There's always super teams. What was unusual about the last 15 years was seeing legitimately young superteams formed by stars colluding in free agency. Normally superteams are formed by aging stars like Olajuwan, Barkley, and Drexler, or Garnett, Piece, and Allen, making one last push for a title before the window closes on their careers. Another unusual thing was seeing guys jump from one contender to a rival contender instead of trying to, well, beat their rival. Stuff like Durant going to GSW, or Allen going from Boston to Miami, just didn't used to happen
Without super teams that have massive talent advantages, the title will come down to what of the best teams is healthiest. No team can overcome an injury to one of their top guys and win the title. Injury luck determines who wins the title more in the NBA than any other team sport.
There's literally a second apron hard cap. Why wouldn't it be? This isn't the NFL where everyone knows the Eagles are making the Super Bowl again. Who knows who is going to the NBA Finals? Its insanely unpredictable.

Toronto won it all! All they had to do was....acquire a guy THAT ALREADY WON A FINALS MVP and have GS entire team fall apart.
Milwaukee and Denver bucked the trend. They somehow won the Finals with the best player in the league.
(Oh, by the way. The other two teams are LeBron and Steph winning their fourth!!!!!)
Orlando has zero fucking chance of winning it all this year. As do OKC and MIN.
The Finals is going to be DEN, either LA team or PHX facing BOS or MIL (unless MIA makes their third Finals in, what, six years?)
Actual parity will never exist in the NBA.
I mean I’m looking at the top 10 teams in the East right now and basically the Pacers and Magic have swapped places with the Nets and the Bulls.
But even beyond that look at the top 10 teams in the East.
Celtics,Magic*,Bucks,Heat,Sixers,Knicks,Pacers*,Cavs,Hawks and Raptors.
The Nets lost KD,Kyrie and Harden so their spot makes sense,the Bulls are having chemistry issues or something.
But also these past few seasons it’s been the Bucks,Heat and Celtics winning the East or getting to the ECF.
Also theres a weird dynamic going on with the Heat,Bucks and Celtics. They usually only lose to each other in the playoffs. Also the Sixers have made top 4 these past few seasons and have lost to the Heat and Celtics as well.
That being said i do think the Magic have potential to either make it to the top 4 in the playoffs or even an ECF appearance.
Basically i think the Magic are a potential dark horse followed by the Knicks,Pacers and Cavs.
That being said unless something drastic happens i can see the Celtics,Magic*, Bucks,Heat,Sixers and Knicks being the top 6 teams in the East. I think Knicks stay at 6 but the top 5 could honestly flip flop in any order.
All that to say i feel like the East has established a new stable order(Bucks,Heat,Celtics and Sixers) seem to be the top 4 teams. Any other first round opponent besides the Heat last year and i think the Bucks get to the 2nd round or hell even the ECF. I think they beat the Knicks in a playoff series.
Celtics swept the Nets two seasons in a row, and the Sixers have only lost to the Heat and Celtics these past two seasons.
The West is definitely interesting though.
I think the Wolves could possibly get revenge on the Nuggets or push them to 7 games. The Suns and Lakers are also pretty interesting.
I wish there were even more parity in the nba this season. Ignore my flair
In the west you have the Wolves, Thunder, Nuggets, Mavs, and Suns
In the East you have the Bucks, Celtics, Magic, and 76ers. Possibly the heat, and/or knicks, too.
I think at most you'll see 4 of these teams drop off, but as of now, we have 10+ legit contenders IMO
All I can say is that there’s a lot more watchable games than previous years
