1 lens forever? My RF15-35 would be the one
Probably my 35mm 1.4 GM
Agree with everyone else that generally speaking I'd take a versatile well built zoom over a "perfect" and extremely fast prime. Unless you are a pro who is always shooting in specific situations where you know the lighting and have specific needs the versatility of a good zoom seems to me to win all the time. Besides with modern digitals I find there's so much extra dynamic range you can pull out of shot that even very underexposed shots that ideally need a faster lens can be brought out in editing.
Sony 70-200 2.8 GMII
35mm prime 2.0 or better. Also, what got me into video.
Fuji GF 110mm f/2
Occasionally too long, but holy crap is it good
24-500 f1.8
50mm
There’s something about my loxia 21mm. The pictures I’ve taken on that thing always have a special quality to it. And the sun stars are just perfect. I don’t know if it’s just because it’s a prime…but I have no other primes to compare it with to see if it’s a special lens.
Of what I own right now? Hard choice between Canon 400/5.6L and Tamron 90/2.8 VC Macro. Wildlife, planes and mountain panoramas or everything else…
Of what I ever owned? Easily the Canon 70-200/4L IS.
Of all lenses out there? Either the Canon RF 100-500/7.1L IS or a good 85 mm prime. Tough choice.
EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II
It's the range I use most for my portrait work, it's sharp throughout its range, and it just produces beautiful results.
I think my nikkor 105mm f/1.4.
Yes, it the focal length has some limitations but I make it work.
Seems like more of you guys, especially those saying 70-200 need to try the 35-150 f2-2.8 lenses from Tamron and Samyang. Just incredible with how versatile they are, I've got some of my best shots in years with the Tamron which is my #1 travel lens now.
My nifty 50
Voigtlander 40mm f/1.2 nokton e-mount
My 28-70 F2
Fuji X 35/1.4. It’s magic.
I'm shooting an R7, so the Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 and the EF 70-200L f/2.8 with and without a speed booster.
135mm prime.
Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 135mm f/3.5. a true beast
Sigma 50 ART
Sony 35mm 1.4 GM.
35mm all the way. It’s my most used lens.
Prime 35 f1.8 it’s just phenomenal
My sigma 30mm 1.4 has barely left my camera since i got 2-3 years ago
My Tamron 35-150mm f/2.0 - 2.8 <3
The sony 35mm f1.4 gm
Tamron 35-150mm has been all I needed recently.
50mm
Nikkor 50mm f1.8.
Bokeh wise? My Nikon 200mm f/2G. Bokeh wise but less pain when holding and easier to bring everywhere ? My Sigma 105mm f/1.4. I don't think I shoot under 100mm, even though I have a 50mm, and a 24-70mm. I think I'd overall choose my Sigma over the Nikon, only because the Nikon is so massive, and hurts my wrist after a while. Very niche lens, and produces gorgeous bokeh. But the Sigma produces just as gorgeous bokeh, and I have more room to do stuff!
Panasonic Leica Nocticron 42.5mm f1.2
Pentax 21mm f/3.2 Limited. The rendering is gorgeous.
200-500 5.6 all day.
NIKKOR Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena cause I’m a nasty hoe who likes perfect creamy bokeh & a nice tight view.
50/1.2GM.
Any 50mm 1.8 bidders in here?
For me, it is also because it has like a blend of everything. Focal length, just minor adjustments with your feet to achieve different focal length. The price, also very very pocket friendly. 1.8 is like a nice sweet spot for primes.
Viltrox 23mm 1.4 on crop.
Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art on full frame.
I can carry a while bag full, but my best shots always come from one of these two lenses, and it only depends on if I’m traveling light (crop), or lugging the beast (full).
100-400, love how this lens can create such beautiful photos
Ive never used a 70-200 which I think might hit the sweet spot.
I have a 24-70 which I love but most of the time im all the way zoomed it.
A lens baby! I’d say Velvet 56 because it was my first so used more than others naturally. Truly enjoy the aspect of making visual art with these.
