Let them know that you appreciate the expression of interest and if you have any future projects where they would fit in you will reach out.

And then never reach out.

No one is ever entitled to your time or TFP, but being kind in the process of evaluating those you want to create with will make more connections and have a better word of mouth than saying ANYTHING about why you're not pursuing a specific connection.

It's a very real thing and absolutely happens even in photography. Just not in this example.

It can do great portraits if you know how to stage people against backgrounds to force bokeh. It'll never be as creamy, but honestly if you're shooting portraits lower than 3.2 you can miss so many shots due to focus.

If I had to choose ONE lens, this would be it.

They're not only asking to be paid for their labour (completely valid!) but they have an easy and convenient way to access those payment plans for you. This isn't weird. This is capitalism and knowing your value. The number of us out here doing free labour like chumps...
