I was on youtube and saw someone write KWAHI instead of Kawhi and I was just shaking my head lol.

Obviously names like Antetokounmpo or Wembanyama are still hard for some people (looking at you Charles Barkley), but some mistakes like Stefon Curry makes you rethink the whole education system.

Are there players on your team that get miswritten or mispronounced when you think it ain't that hard ?

Used to be Gordon Haywood. That was fun for 3 years

[–] schlongkarwai@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I see Siakam written as Siakim a lot.

It used to be Fred Van Vleet being said as Fred Van Fleet.

Now that Im thinking about it its probably Jakob Poeltl both being miswritten and mispronounced.

Yeah, a lot of people get confused with the spelling of Dean Wade, totally understandable. /s

Bogdan Bogdanović

Written - Terrance Ross. Supposed to be Terrence.

Pronounced - OG Anunoby. Mispronounced on a spectrum from “Ah-new-new-bee” to fucking “ah-new-wah-bee” from that tool Nick wright

Keith Pompey once said OG Anjunoby on the Raptors Show

[–] LotharBot@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

home opener last season, Nuggets arena announcer Kyle Speller announced the Nuggets player as "DeAndre Ayton" and then corrected himself.

I see Jason and Jalen a lot.

[–] DescriptionOk7755@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Not a player but I see Quinn a lot

[–] robydoge@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

As a big Quin fan, this bothers me

[–] Lucieddreams@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I see Reeves typed way more than Reaves in the Laker sub

[–] junahn@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I hear Austin Rivers sometimes

[–] FKJVMMP@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Like, outside your window?

[–] Lord-of-Spring@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Being cool by only typing Hali instead of Tyrese or Haliburton, really just laziness.

[–] growsonwalls@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I've seen Andre Igoudala a lot instead of Iguodala

[–] BullShitting-24-7@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Draymond Green. He’s called a multitude of not so endearing adjectives.

[–] drecz@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

OG Anunoby without a doubt

[–] 2Blitz@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

It used to be Redick. Everyone adds another 'D'

[–] iro3@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

devontae' graham... probably

[–] BallIsKindaLife@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Jonas Va-see-inu-a-sauce

[–] ahrumah@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I always forget if haliburton is one “l” or two. I have to look up Daigneault’s spelling every time (I always forget the “e”)

[–] Single-Mountain-1079@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Not a player but our coach. It’s mark DAYG-nault. Not dag-nault

[–] elecorby@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

tomany camaro

[–] UpcycledSkateArt@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Not a player but however you pronounce the thunders coach

[–] Alternative-Target31@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I’ll be real, I don’t know how to pronounce the names of half these guys we are playing these days because they’ve never on tv before.

But when healthy I guess it’s Santi Aldama

[–] The_Real_Truman@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I guarantee youd spell my name wrong OP even though you would assume it’s spelt one way.

Like, nobody cares as much as you and someone probably typod KWAHI.

You talk about eduction system but by posting this show your low iq and lck of problem solving skills and analytical abilities.

[–] DowntownTopRanking@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Shai. There are too many so-called "video creators" who have mispronounced his name as "Shy."

[–] Donut4000@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Bennedict Mathurin, Aaron Nesmith, Buddy Heild, Goga Bitadze (former Pacer)

[–] hellofloss@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)
[–] BullsBlackhawks@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

And DeRozen

I have to correct myself roughly 100% of the time when I type Bryce McGowans or Bryce McGowens

The real answer is probably Frank Ntilikina but I refuse to accept the fact he's still an NBA player

Current player, I see quite a bit of “Jacquez” instead of “Jaquez” even if they pronounce it correctly.

Gabe’s Nigerian name, Nnamdi, would get misspelled all the time.

And then there’s Dwyane Wade probably the most misspelled Heat player.
