Every year we get a few new players who become all stars. With a lot of the current stars/superstars beginning to age out, who do you think will replace them this year? There should be a few front court spots in the east as well as some guard spots. In the west there might be a few front court spots open too.

Bane or Cade maybe but it’s an uphill battle especially since bad records do not usually get rewarded

Maxey and Chet

[–] LimitlessTheTVShow@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Honestly, Chet might have a shot. Probably unlikely, but 17/8.5/2.5 with 1 steal and almost 2.5 blocks, on 56/43/88 splits is pretty insane for a rookie

[–] katielin-nextdoor@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Very slight chance. He’s good and all but hard to see them giving it to a rook

Maxey, Sengun, Mobley, Brunson.

Autocorrect corrected Mobley to Monkey. WTF.

[–] dmavs11@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Mobley has not been good enough offensively

[–] UrbanJatt@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

If wemby continues to play even decent his name and popularity alone will make a significant push for all star consideration

Jalen Brunson

Mikal Bridges is having a good season

[–] UnhousedFeline@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

The list is long, but my guesses so far would be Maxey, Paolo, Chet

Maxey seems like a lock with great production on a great team.

Paolo and/or Franz could do it if Orlando keeps up their winning ways.

Scottie has been looking real good but he might need a bit more success from his team overall to get the nod

Chet is looking great and his team is winning so I think it is likely

Brunson is undoubtedly one of the best guards but NYK is suspect in my book this season. They're winning right now though.

Mikal is great as well, but Brooklyn ain't looking too good right now

Sengun has been really impressive and I think he could get the nod if his team stays competitive.

I forgot Halliburton was an All Star last year. Maxey has a shot.

[–] pahamack@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Anthony Edwards is the most obvious, then Maxey.

So, let's take a quick look who's going to be in the All-Star team if no further injuries happen.

East: Tatum; Brown; Giannis; Embiid; Butler are a lock.

That leaves 7 open spots: Banchero from Magic for being a top 4 seed; Jalen Brunson - NY + being a top 6 seed; Tyrese Haliburton - Indiana if the team stays in the top 8; Donovan Mitchell - 4 straight All-Star appearancrs doubt it will be over; Lillard - the same when the Bucks are going to be top 3 seed.

That leaves wild card 2 open spots: LaMelo has the stats and cool factor to get him there; and the last stop will be between Maxey and Trae.

West: LeBron; Curry; Luka; KD; Booker; SGA; Jokic; Edwards are locked.

That leaves only 4 spots open: Fox (I doubt they are going to leave him if Kings are top 6 seed); Kyrie (If the Mavs stay in the top 4 spot he's going to get in); KAT (The hard truth here is that if Wolves remain Nr. 1 seed they are going to get another All-Star spot);

Wild card spot: Zion. The NBA wants him there just for the dunks and potential highlight reel and they will get him there even if there are no injuries and Pelicans stay in the top 10 standings.

But as always injuries happen and there will be more players.

So my predictions for 1st time All-Stars: Banchero; Brunson.
