Zach Lavine
NBA - Main
Game analysis, highlights and everything else that is happening in the NBA.
I would take Nique
Wild. His bag is nowhere near Vince. And Vince was a better leaper on top of it.
Nique had power and style
Blake Griffin was a better dunker and player
Blake was a great dunker and a good player but this is brutally wrong on both takes.
Blake > Vince is arguable though, especially when you look at individual achievements. Both were constant 1st/2nd round exits as the no.1 option. Blake made 5 All NBA teams, while Vince made 2. Blake finished 3rd in MVP voting, while the highest Vince ever finished was 10th. I'm not saying it's a surefire thing, because of the different eras, opponents, position availabilty etc, but it's definitely arguable.
Not arguable at all.
Vince was on another planet
In terms of individual ability and potential, yeah I agree. But in terms of actually getting the results, I don't think so.
The other two commentators named big men as Vince’s dunk competitors. That should be evidence enough to why Vince was so fun to watch. He was the size, 6’5-6’7 where dunks look the prettiest. And he was doing dunks that only big men have been able to replicate in game.
I hate to say it but before he fucked up Miles Bridges was one of the best current dunkers in the league….but i really hate to say it
why? what he do? oh god im not sure i want to know
Beat the shit out of his girlfriend
Twice
Probably still is, I doubt beating someone makes you worse at dunking
well hes only been back like 3 games so idfk how good he still is
I don’t Watch hornets Games tbh i think they are one of the 10 teams I haven’t seen a minute of play this season
Just wow
The way he gets up there isn’t normal. He’s a freak.
From what I’ve heard great dunkers talk about as they age, it’s not getting up that’s the problem, it’s coming down. Those landings are hard on the knees.
For fun, here’s Dr j dunking at 63 dr j
In game dunks, #1 MJ #2 Kemp #3 Carter. All star game dunks, who cares.
Blake griffin is a better in game dunker than MJ
One of the most nephew takes ive ever seen
Oh for fuck sake. This is why young fans have to come together on the internet. They aren’t welcome in real discussions with ridiculous takes like this.
The Clippers alley oop dunk is still the most amazing feat I have seen in-game. I wish we had HD footage of how stupid it was.
The worst passes always make the best alley-oops
If VCs played in the social media era he'd be the most popular athlete on the planet
Or they’d talk about how he never won anything
He played in the Sportscenter era and was the face of the NBA for a few years. I remember the raptors always being one of the hottest tickets despite being an above average team, because you knew he was gonna get one amazing fast break dunk a game
You might be too young to realize just how popular Vince was in the early 2000s
Even as an old man on the Hawks, VC used to cook everyone in practice for a few minutes.
He was amazing the first year as a Hawk, but the second year he was really washed. I always loved to see him shooting 3 with left hand after referee called. Pure love to the game.
How did you not post a video brah
Whenever people argue for another player being the greatest dunker ever, I just point them to Vince’s top 100 dunks, and that usually changes their minds
I remember on a fast break, Carter was all alone and everyone stood up to see what he would do and he did a layup lol.
In game dunker? Still debatable. Dominique. Dawkins. Jordan. Kemp. There are others with claims to that throne.
There simply isn't. VC is ahead of these guys by a good margin.
I would give anything for a dunk contest between lavine, vince, Gordon, and jrich.
You gotta put Lavine in that competition too
Coen Carr and Shaedon Sharpe are the only two guys I could see taking that title. Only two that have the bounce.
You’re joking right
Shaedon Sharpe
HUGE VC fan here. Just wanted to point out despite his awe-inspiring dunks, the man was ridiculously talented in other areas of basketball expertise. Particularly his shooting & playmaking, which I feel the latter is a bit underrated. That pass during the 01(?) all star game to AI for the and-1 against Duncan was pure hoop insanity. Just wished he was able to get a ring at one point in his career
I want anyone to watch the top 100 compilation of his dunks and tell me he’s not the best in-game dunker ever. It’s not close. https://youtu.be/hm835C1SCJE?si=NKGMA0Vo2iaqaqyK
Vince Carter is the GOAT of dunking. Lavine and Gordon are good and all. but they don't even come close
Chocolate Thunder.
