There is still a very large number of Zach Wilson defenders on the jets sub, they used to slob him up and down when he was barely cracking 100 yards passing a game as well

His average depth of target was 0.8 yards in the first half, and, before the last drive, he had thrown 3 passes over 10 yards. Makes this way less impressive and shows why it’s important to have to full picture.
Throwing in his two almost game wrecking fumbles and that also adds to the picture. I was feeling stressed for him with the Boss man lurking behind that laptop.
Last season he had one of the highest passer ratings for throws longer than 20 yards. It's not the player it's the play caller.
With competent coaching and good roster building, Fields could’ve been one of the most dangerous QB’s in the league. Idk if he can turn it around, but every week under Getsy and Eberflus makes it that much less likely
The problem has always been intermediate throws with Fields, not deep throws. Unfortunately intermediate throws are the most important throws in the NFL.
So he is the best at one or two passes a game? Sign him already!
Fields continues to either miss reads or be too gun shy to pull the trigger.
I shouted "throw the fucking ball" way too many times last night.
It got down to 0.3 at some point in the 3rd.

They had 4 takeaways and scored 12 points. He wasn’t exactly dropping in dimes 30 yards downfield all night. The Bears’ coaching staff doesn’t trust him to throw ball past the line of scrimmage half the time and I can’t blame them.
He can make the throws, he just holds on to the ball too damn long and ends up rushing for a +/- 2 yard gain, doesn't show up on the stat sheet.
Didn't seem like it, he missed a few easy ones and left Mooney up to get smashed when he was wide open
I mean that kind of means he can't consistently make the throws. He has the arm for it - but he consistently misses reads and/or just can't pull the trigger on anticipation throws.
It's maddening to watch - every game there are too many plays where I'm yelling "throw the fucking ball"

Going to be funny if one of Caleb Williams or Drake Maye turn into good NFL QBs and the Bears pass on them and Stroud in back to back years cause they were enamored by Fields.

It will always crack me up how many Bears fans were worried we'd lose Getsy to a head coaching job. Turns out hiring someone that road the coattails of a generational QB isn't the way to go.
all these stats being spout out today and none of them ever call out that he missed what 5 games then comparing his stats to league wide stats.

If you asked me to softly toss the ball half a yard forwards every play, I'd also make 100% of my passes.
Only 10 of his 37 pass attempts were beyond 5 yards, and only 5 were beyond 10 yards. 16 of his throws were at or behind the line of scrimmage.
Two passes completed that had over 10 yards in the air. Fields was awful, but thankfully for the Bears Dobbs was even worse.
Watched that game and really don’t think Fields is the problem
