So Freund was just acting coy when he said 3 days ago that he thinks Ulreich will extend before christmas.

Neuer went surprisingly fast

I'm not surprised a contract was signed, I'm more curious about the wage?

Let's goooo

Great news! Now extend Müller and they can end their amazing careers together after our CL win dahoam in 2025.

I wonder what that will mean for Peretz. Guess we won't ever see Nübel in Bayern jersey again.

Guess we won't ever see Nübel in Bayern jersey again.

I think that ship has already sailed when he didn't want to come to Munich to replace Neuer when he got injured.

I know Monaco wasn't keen on letting him go anyway but if Nübel really wanted, we would have found a solution.

I think he was still checking what Neuer will do but wanted to have a #1 spot the whole season. But now the door is definitely closed for him to return

[–] getZlatanized@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Yup. The decision to not come and fight for that spot while having the opportunity to show his qualities for half a year definitely showed that he is not Bayern material, mentality wise.

[–] Alexa-turnonthelight@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I mean.. Let's be honest, we all knew that once Neuer was back there was no real chance of fighting back. Sommer knew that and any keeper who knows their worth know that.

[–] getZlatanized@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Disagree. If a keeper showed really promising performances while neuer couldn't play, I think there would have been an open fight for the spot. Even before his injury, Neuer was already on the decline a bit.

Even in the best case scenario for Nübel (him playing great and Neuer performing badly after coming back), Neuer wouldn't have simply accepted the situation. He surely would have tried to influence the media (like he did with his accident), the trainer or Uli to put him back in charge.

[–] getZlatanized@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

So what? Performance counts at our club. If someone else performs better, he plays.

[–] chilledfox13@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

There were other factors in play too. Nubel didnt fit with the goalkeeper coach who was buddy buddy with Neuer.

[–] casce@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

I'm aware. I'm not saying Nübel coming back would have necessarily worked out well for either him or us. But showing little to no interest to come back sealed the deal in my opinion.

I don't like this. I mean, I like that they renew, but I don't like running into a situation where we lose our #1 and the #1 substitute goalie in the same year. Bayern has the tendency to run into obvious problems like that all the time, they should stagger this, just in case.

[–] sc_140@alien.top 1 points 9 months ago

This is not a situation where either of them are likely to leave when Bayern still need and want them though. They will be 39 and 36 at the end of their contracts, giving them a multi-year extension at this point would be too risky. Also, by 2025, Peretz might be our #1 substitute anyways.

I swear, if the screw up Thomas Müllers contract , it won’t end well 🤔
