Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Triple sabotage? That imbecile can't even count.

[–] Catma@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Escalator, teleprompter, and not giving a standing ovation to dear leader. Sounds like 3 to me

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 2 points 18 hours ago

Ah, OK, then it adds up.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The entire General Assembly should have mooned him.

[–] FuckFascism@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

He would have enjoyed it.

[–] MrVilliam@sh.itjust.works 81 points 3 days ago (4 children)

Persecution complex on full display. What a fucking embarrassment. I wish him the absolute worst. He's certainly in the top ten list of worst human beings to have ever lived, and we let him become US president. I don't think enough Americans are aware of the lasting damage being incurred, or the path towards actual collapse we're bumbling down.

“I don’t think enough Americans are aware of the lasting damage being incurred, or the path towards actual collapse we’re bumbling down.”

Nope, they revel in their ignorance. If we make it out of this we need Reconstruction rules - no more voting for them!

We elected him twice! Twice. (Maybe)

[–] jaxxed@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Twice!

If it's any consolation, Trump is as much a symptom of a global trend, as he is a root cause. In many ways you are lucky that you caught a buffoon tyrant; it actually could be worse.

[–] rayyy@piefed.social 2 points 2 days ago

Trump is as much a symptom of a global trend, as he is a root cause.

So true. Pope Leo XIV has an excellent warning for us. The orange felon/pedophile is a mirror.

I disagree. I mean, don't get me wrong - I do think the damage he is causing is absolutely horrifying. But the man himself? Completely worthless loser. Honestly, if he actually was some kinda scheming villain who can't be stopped, then this bullshit might actually make sense. But he's just a self absorbed moron with not a single redeeming quality. Literally a complete waste of space.

[–] WhatThaFudge@lemmy.world 23 points 2 days ago

an anonymous U.N. official said the escalator in question was actually stopped prematurely by someone from Trump’s group, who ran ahead of the group and accidentally triggered a stop mechanism. The official added that the teleprompter that Trump was so upset about was also being operated by his White House.

It was an inside job all along!

"Very sinister events"?!

  • escalator stops
  • teleprompter crashes
  • microphone cuts out

Trump is rather easily scared.

[–] ryannathans@aussie.zone 24 points 3 days ago (2 children)

When it was already found his administration was responsible for the first two

[–] nocturne@slrpnk.net 6 points 3 days ago

I knew about the escalator, but had not heard about them being the cause of the teleprompter issue.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

All three. He hasn't caught up dues or even paid what was due during his time in office.

[–] frunch@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

"A Trump never pays his debts"

When my mom was in memory care, she would often claim that she was a victim of theft and demand that the staff get to the bottom of the crime. My poor sister would end up having to go over and find the missing item in mom's closet or shoved under the mattress or something.

I think paranoia about being a victim is part of dementia. Not too surprising.

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 30 points 3 days ago (1 children)

And every report has found that his own incompetent team was responsible for all of this "sabotage".

[–] frunch@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

The call's coming from inside the White House! 😯

[–] Leather@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

Um, can we get a damn that's crazy. Show us the Epstein files splash please?

[–] Blade9732@lemmy.world 21 points 3 days ago

Cool, then UN can swear out an ICC warrant for Trump's videographer and the White House teleprompter crew. Maybe add them to Interpol also.

[–] SoloCritical@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

“someone planted shit in my diapers, I want you to find out who did this, but be discreet.”

[–] WatDabney@sopuli.xyz 18 points 3 days ago

Just your daily reminder that the President of the United States is a deranged lunatic.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 days ago

Does he realize that we'd all stop talking about the escalator a lot sooner if he didn't make a big fuss about it?

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 5 points 2 days ago

He left off that someone also crapped in his pants.

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Does he think it takes sabotage to make him look like a moron?

...Wait, yeah, he almost certainly does. I don't have enough head trauma to arrive at that conclusion easily.

[–] 13igTyme@piefed.social 2 points 3 days ago

Poor guy's been sabatoged since birth.

[–] sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz 8 points 2 days ago

WHO DISABLED THE PRESIDENT'S MOBILITY SCOOTER. TALK, I WANT ANSWERS AND WE WILL RESORT TO TORTURE TO GET THEM. MIKEY BRING OUT THE JUMPER CABLES AND THE KIDDIE POOL OF CHICKEN NUGGET SAUCE

[–] Kurious84@lemmings.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I suppose they staged the horse pooping in front of him too. God loves to play games with Trump. Take these moments as the divine raspberry.

[–] porksnort@slrpnk.net 4 points 2 days ago

The horse was also Antifa

What a KKKaren

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago

Walking up a flight of steps could very well have caused a heart attack for some of trump's condition...

But I'm surprised he'd admit he's such a a weak bag of shit.

[–] Klear@quokk.au 4 points 2 days ago

Is he gonna set it straight, this watergate?

[–] blimthepixie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 days ago

Scraping the barrel on excuses here now Donad

[–] finitebanjo@piefed.world 4 points 3 days ago
