It's rude to watch me and put me in a comic without my permission.

[–] BarbecueCowboy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 week ago (2 children)

That burger looked delicious though, how was it?

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You think I groom myself!?

[–] tetris11@feddit.uk 3 points 1 week ago

Oh I've seen you "groom" yourself several times a day, you flowerpot

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 3 points 1 week ago

It was fine. Carl's Jr guacamole bacon burger. The quality has gone down over the years though...

[–] Zhanzhuang@lemmy.world 38 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I have a rule now that if I see fruit sitting on the table and I think about it for a second I have to eat it.

[–] BanMe@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

I have a similar one, if I'm hungry enough to walk into the kitchen, I'm hungry enough to eat some fruit. About 1/2 of the time I even do it. If I know there aren't pastries in a cupboard.

[–] Beacon@fedia.io 27 points 1 week ago (4 children)

I eat fruit every day, it's delish

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 1 points 5 days ago

I disagree with you, I find it mediocre most days. And that’s ok!

[–] Carnelian@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago

I’m a fruit pilled peach cel. I’m in my yummy snack src

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Huh. That's interesting. I never touch the stuff.

[–] MissJinx@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

idk why but fruit make me sick. The smell itself already make me a bit nauseated. I love watermelon juice, cant have it at all otherwise I'll be sick. Even things like strawberries make me sick. cant explainq

[–] Beacon@fedia.io 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] MissJinx@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

wow no! I never knew this was a real thing, I thought I was overreacting. I'll talk to him next time for sure! Thanks for the tip

[–] Beacon@fedia.io 1 points 1 week ago

You're very welcome! Very glad i could potentially help!

[–] Jumi@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Cutting my fruits really helps me eating more.

One whole apple? Nah, that's too much.

Three apples cut into slices? Count me in!

[–] filcuk@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Listen up... cut up your oranges into slices. It's so much more fun to eat.
Yes, i know they grow pre-sliced. Forget that and give it a go.

[–] Jumi@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm not a citrus fruit fan. My favourite are apples.

[–] Madzielle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What's your favorite kind of apple? I always like cold gala

[–] Jumi@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

I like sweet and sour ones

[–] BastingChemina@slrpnk.net 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I have a rule for my kids is that I never say no to fruits and I try to always have fruits in the fruit basket (as long as they eat the whole thing and leave a half eaten fruit somewhere in the house).

My two year old is really enjoying that and can eat two whole apples and some grapes in a row. Sure he will not eat anything at dinner after that but I can't be mad at him for eating fruits.

[–] ghost_towels@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago

Unearthing a half eaten apple somewhere in the house is the worst. Or orange peels! I keep telling my daughter, we live in the country, you’ve lived here your whole life, you know that’s just an invite (with a giant flashing welcome sign) for mice and bugs. Still find them.

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Ha, like I’d buy fruit in the first place.

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago (6 children)

Dude. You're missing out.

You can buy grapes, fresh from the store, and then.....ya know. Totally pig out on delicious grapes.

I know it sounds like I'm starting off explaining some complex life hack that I never got to.....but I'm not.

My way, you get to eat delicious grapes. Your way, you don't. That's the life hack. Eat grapes.

And not JUST grapes! Apples. Oranges. Strawberries. Watermelon. Pomegranate. Pears. Kiki. Mango. Raspberrys. Cherries. Grapefruit.

Most people don't think of Lemons as a fruit, but they TOTALLY are. Actually tomatoes are a fruit too! Doesn't seem like it, but they are!

Lots of tasty snacks! DUDE! YOU EVER HAVE A PLUM???

Just, not bananas. You can't eat my hands, and MY HANDS ARE BANANAS!!!

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Apples are in season. Like, right now! Got me a nice bag of big juicy cortland apples 🤤

[–] otacon239@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

This is the deepest cut I’ve seen in a long time. Pre-history YouTube. I’m pretty sure this was the first video I ever saw on the platform.

[–] Balaquina@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 week ago

I like your energy.

Kiki is good, but what about bouba?

[–] dubyakay@lemmy.ca 0 points 1 week ago

Seedless grapes are the devil though.

[–] Beacon@fedia.io -3 points 1 week ago

And I'll add on an actual life hack - you don't even have to wash the fruit before eating it. Sure, giving it a rinse is probably a good thing to do, but eating unwashed fruit n veg is better than anything else you'd eat instead

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

We found a rock that looks just like a potato (sometimes we'll put it in a fresh bag just to prank each other) and it lived in the kitchen counter fruit bowl for a while. Then my cat decided it was her best friend for a month and would cuddle it every day. Best Rock.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

For me the issue is having the abundance of clean and clear counter space for the bowl.

[–] HugeNerd@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 week ago

I laughed a bit nervously at the cartoon but your comment makes me want to shut off the puter and start cleaning

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago (4 children)

My issue is the fruit goes bad faster than I can eat it all.

I'll buy a 3 kilo bag of apples, eat an apple every day, and still be left with 5 rotten apples.

[–] Dozzi92@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

I keep apples in my fridge and they generally stay good way, way, way longer than expected, it's nuts. I'm talking 6 weeks or more.

[–] Madzielle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Even if bulk is a few cents cheaper, this is why I buy loose fruit.

I did buy bulk pears, but after snacking and there's 5-8 left, I made Chef John's pear Clafoutis dessert. Leftover fruit is dessert.

It helps to have a garbage disposal of a kid around too

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Here in Denmark bulk is not a few cents cheaper, unfortunately.

[–] Honytawk@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, the comic takes place in an hour.

The guy just can will a beard into existence.

Why else do you think they wear the same clothes in every panel?

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Damn. I wish I had his beard power. I can't even grow a proper beard after two years of no shaving.

[–] x00z@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Next time you buy 3kg of apples, you could give away the 5 apples or make apple juice or a dish out of them before they go bad.

[–] chicken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

For bananas, when they're ripe I slice them up and freeze them. Some other fruits are cheaper frozen than fresh, so I buy those frozen to begin with, and mostly eat them with my oatmeal in the morning.

[–] Hazel@piefed.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 week ago

I do this too now, buying frozen has increased my fruit intake by 1000%.

[–] jjjalljs@ttrpg.network 5 points 1 week ago

Fruit has been one of my indulges during unemployment. I'd never buy a bag of chips for myself but I will eat a bag of oranges (over the course of several days). Grapes are good, too. Strawberries when they're on sale. Bananas are okay. Blueberries are good. One of the little groceries was selling pints of cherry tomatoes (not a fruit by most standards) for $1. Ate the whole thing that night.

And that's why I don't buy fresh produce.

[–] P1k1e@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I buy 4 individual fruits a week. Eat one every morning right after I wake up. Granny Smith before my commute really kicks you on the balls (in a good way)

[–] witten@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)
[–] P1k1e@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Oh man, catch me outside, I love these damn apples

[–] hedge_lord@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Those bananas just became ripe and this guy chooses to eat a burger??
