Fun fact: In many countries, persimmons are known as Kakis, and Germany is one of those countries. The problem is that in German, this sound like a minimisation of the word "shit" ("Kacke").

I don't think they taste that great and I dislike the texture.

However they have a pleasant smell and are an aesthetic looking fruit.

I bought one at some ethnic grocery store because I saw them on animal crossing new leaf and was curious what they tasted like.

Not for me.

They vary a lot depending on ripeness

I can see how some people might like them. I'm not sure exactly why I don't. I think I got a good one. I just didn't like it.

All I got right now is this box of one dozen starving crazed weasels.

Okay, I'll take those.

Actually I do. My partner has a specific smile she only gets when eating persimmons and I refuse to turn down a chance to see it.

Because they're all over the sidewalk lol. I have a tree in my yard.

That's nothing. I have no granadillas, rambutans or mangosteens either.

I ate the last one yesterday.

Did you really expect me to resist?

Hard to find. Only two nurseries carry them.

Because I splurged and bought too many Snyder's of Hanover pretzel bags and now don't have any money. :C

They're a bit expensive around me

Understandable, this is almost like me asking why you aren't all eating durian. I am gloating

I bought one earlier this week but it was so unripe it was inedible.

The house building company? Who can afford a house at the minute?
