Voyager and the website

[–] Krudler@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

I used to use (paid) Boost but it has more bugs than an entomology lab and I'm just fucking sick of it.

Recently switched to Voyager, and it's not as feature rich, but the features are much more stable.

I've gotten comfortable with Jerboa, but also I don't get to see GIFs and stuff people post, and I'm not sure if that's a limitation of the app? I really should try some of the others though.

Boost and also sometimes Voyager, both are really well polished.

[–] exist@sopuli.xyz 19 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

Voyager. Don't remember why I stuck to this one, but the others I tried lacked some features I wanted.

[–] AstroLightz@lemmy.world 11 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I like it because it is pretty much the Lemmy successor to Apollo for Reddit.

Jeroba is for Jabronis

[–] Quill7513@slrpnk.net 2 points 19 hours ago

for me it's the gestures

Second this, it is great and gets regular updates

[–] BigBolillo@mgtowlemmy.org 1 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Sometimes I just have problems saving settings, does it happen to you too?

[–] Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone 2 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Nah not that I have ever noticed, I hmdont really change the settings though either.

[–] BigBolillo@mgtowlemmy.org 2 points 8 hours ago

Thx for your reply, maybe it's my phone I will check in my second phone 👍✌️

web browser

[–] gingernate@sopuli.xyz 2 points 14 hours ago

I keep hoping sync will be updated

[–] webkitten@piefed.social 5 points 18 hours ago (4 children)

Boost for the longest time; but since I've been using Piefed, I mostly just use mobile Vivaldi/Firefox instead of an app (Boost still works with it; I just got used to using it over apps).

Boost. Only problem I have is videos often only play in thumbnail and load infinitely when clicked on. Not that important for me though.

With Jerboa and Voyager there were a lot of small problems that just made the experience worse.

Boost. Used to use it for Reddit, then they disabled the APIs or whatever.

Anyway, it's excellent. Highly recommend.

[–] nutsack@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 20 hours ago

sink still works for me. what's wrong with it

[–] northernlights@lemmy.today 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Jerboa. I find the UI very nice. Right around amount of info and density (i hate excessive padding), fully customizable colors, not 1 glitch

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 5 points 21 hours ago

The only issue I ever experienced on Jerboa was gifs just not playing until you clicked on them and you never knew if something was supposed to be a gif or not.

As a former Sync user of nearly 10 years, I've moved to Summit now. It's the closest to Sync of all the apps I tried.

[–] ieGod@lemmy.zip 1 points 14 hours ago

Just discovered summit recently as well. So far it's alright. I miss the slickness of sync though. The polish remains unrivaled.

[–] Tuuktuuk@piefed.ee 2 points 18 hours ago

I use Voyager, but I use it mostly for PieFed, not Lemmy.

[–] return2ozma@lemmy.world 4 points 23 hours ago

I've never used an app for Lemmy just the mobile browser.

[–] Draegur@lemmy.zip 1 points 17 hours ago

I prefer Thunder But sometimes images and other content just straight up fail to load, and then I end up using Voyager again.

[–] TisI@lemmy.zip 4 points 23 hours ago

Having tried almost all apps for Lemmy, Summit is the best. Not only is it feature rich, it also let's me view some content from instances that don't load for me on other clients. And this apparently only happens on Lemmy.zip.

[–] PumpkinSkink@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

I had to check, but voyager, evidently.

[–] Cort@lemmy.world 3 points 22 hours ago

I used sync for Lemmy and Reddit, but switched to eternity like 6 months ago.

Very similar layout options & oled black night mode.

Doesn't work: Spoilers Gifs & Gboard gif search

Everything else is fine.
