  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

I'm starting to really dislike Nazis.

[–] zeppo@lemmy.world 86 points 2 weeks ago (5 children)

and why the fuck would that be the slogan of the Dept. of Labor?

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 72 points 2 weeks ago

Because all of the US Government is now run by Nazis.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 43 points 2 weeks ago

Can you Nazi the reason?

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 35 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Their second choice was "arbeit macht frei".

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 10 points 2 weeks ago

When I saw that headline, I honestly thought it would be a variation on this.

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 30 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Because Republicans run it.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 5 points 2 weeks ago

No Republicans any more. That was just the larval stage before the morphed into their final form - MAGA. All conservatives are MAGA. ALL.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 20 points 2 weeks ago

Because he didn't think of "Work will make you free"

[–] MountingSuspicion@reddthat.com 73 points 2 weeks ago

We already have a great slogan. E pluribus unum. The idea that people from different places, backgrounds, and walks of life all come together for one cause, the betterment of all, that's something to rally behind. The US hasn't ever stood for that, but it's something to strive for at least. What they're offering has been rejected by the world time and time again and will continue to be. What they're peddling is shameful and I'm disgusted that anyone is falling for this.

I swear half of all government actions now are just bait to goad people into violence so they can justify a massive crackdown.

[–] SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 2 weeks ago

More than half.

[–] brygphilomena@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 weeks ago

I just can't understand how people aren't seeing they get the same results no matter what.

Slow, with lots of manufactured consent.

Or fast, with lots of outrage over the use of martial law and the insurrection act.

Somebody should do a Peter Parker meme where he puts on his glasses and it says “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer,”

[–] Jerb322@lemmy.world 34 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Not all whites are from the same homeland... His fucking wife doesn't share the same heritage as him! This fucking guy...

[–] Lasherz12@lemmy.world 21 points 2 weeks ago

Probably why he'd rather be fucking his daughter than his wife.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

Hell a lot of American whites are a blend of European ancestries. Hell, mine blended before coming here

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 31 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

One Homeland. One People. One Heritage.

[–] youngGoku@lemmy.world 25 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

So I guess we're not a melting pot anymore?

[–] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 23 points 2 weeks ago

We are in reality. We are not in the white Christian fantasies of the MAGA crowd.

[–] f4f4f4f4f4f4f4f4@sopuli.xyz 3 points 2 weeks ago

There's too many anti-Constitution turds in the stew now, it's a melting potty.

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 2 points 2 weeks ago

It's gotten so hot that the pot has melted.

[–] Zedstrian@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 2 weeks ago

Uneducated, racist, transphobic, homophobic, xenophobic, white supremacist, gun-toting religious fundamentalist nutjobs are not my people.

[–] aarch0x40@piefed.social 11 points 2 weeks ago

Remember who you are, human slave!

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 weeks ago

weird. a user on here was just telling me a few hours ago that my use of the term "literal nazis" was wrong because those words have meanings, and those meanings can't be used to describe this administration

so, uh, that was a lie

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

The department shared on X, formerly Twitter, an 11-second montage of American artwork captioned: “One Homeland. One People. One Heritage.”

The language immediately drew damning comparisons to the Nazi Germany slogan “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer,” which translates to “One People, One Realm, One Leader,”

[–] Tujio@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Why stop there? "Homeland" translates to "geheimat staat", which is the Ge Sta part of Gestapo.

Edit- whoops. My German is a bit scheisse. See comment below.

[–] too_high_for_this@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

It's geheime and it means secret.

Homeland is Heimat.

[–] LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net 8 points 2 weeks ago

Oh I remember mother fuckers. I remember how you murdered us in the streets and said we deserved it.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 6 points 2 weeks ago

They love sneaking in these cute little Easter Eggs. They think we're too dumb to notice them.

[–] Lasherz12@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Does the same Nazi have access to all their accounts or are Nazis really that one-note?

[–] No_Money_Just_Change@feddit.org 1 points 2 weeks ago

I think I understand the sentiment but did the native Americans ever see themselves as one people?
