Shark is the symbol for trans people now?
TLDR: IKEA (the Swedish furniture company) sold a shark (blahaj) plushie that people compared to the trans flag (blue, pink, and white) and it kind of stuck. Pretty interesting.

plus, it's a plushie so it's lovely and huggable – my guess is that such warm contact can feel gender-affirming (I'm not trans but I do have a Blåhaj)

No pretty much the start of it being really common for games though and on the tailend of your soundcard mattered
The game came out in 1994. CDs were invented in 1985. But consumer adaption was around that time
