MODERATORS

Was recently in an argument on memes@lemmy.ml and was shamed for "Being against Palestine" (which is absurd. I support Palestine, but apparently voting for Kamala over Trump because the former had the better stance on transpeople is somehow a bad thing?)

And I recently saw I could no longer reply or even up or down vote.

When I went to check my posts they were marked with "Banned from Community"

I'd expect a message direct to me to explain this, but I didn't get one.

I have seen this marker on other users. Alongside just "banned"

So just asking what's the difference between banned and banned from community?

Communities, generally, are user created and run by the user that created it and any others they appoint as mods. Banned from community just means the mods don't want you to participate in their community.

You can still participate in any other communities.

I was hoping that's what that meant.

Yip. Mods are different to admins, who run the instance. Admins can ban you from an instance which means you can't participate in any communities on their instance.

If your own instance admins ban you, that's the kind of ban that will stop you being able to log in to your account.

It's lemmy.ml Consider that a badge of honor.

Anyone who needs to censor you evidently feels they can't beat your argument with rationality. It's a sign of concession.

Well come to the club! Apparently "slavery is bad" is CIA propaganda if it you include slavery in the CCP controlled territory.

Also no message explaining what rules i actually violated. Some servers have better moderation then others shrug

You didn't get a message either?

Nope. I found after typing a small research paper on slavery issues in China and not being able to hit submit because I was banned
