Stephen Miller looks like he would be most at home performing a Nazi salute at Nuremberg just before falling through the gallows.

[–] lechekaflan@lemmy.world 4 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

Assholes. All of them. Everything those motherfuckers do to destroy in the name of "patriotism" every fucking day, they only make Putin very fucking happy.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 26 points 1 day ago

She should be asked in every press conference how close Trump is to firing him. When is the President going to fire Miller? They should hear it every single day.

That hateful prick miller will always think he is the victim.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago

I'd love to see Miller get asked that every single time he's in front of cameras.

[–] Hermit_Lailoken@lemmy.world 114 points 1 day ago (3 children)

These people have 0 integrity.

[–] eestileib@lemmy.blahaj.zone 48 points 1 day ago (2 children)

These people look different every time I see them, like they're trying to erase what their souls have written on their faces.

Mar-a-lago face.

I was randomly thinking about John Boehner last night and wondering if shit like this is the real reason why he'd burst into tears all the time. Like his conscious was betraying him as he lied and spread disinformation for the GOP.

Stephen Miller needs to be treated as a domestic terrorist and traitor to the United States of America.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (2 children)

The chances of him facing actual charges after Trump dies is actually very high.

When the administration shatters and everyone is scrambling to shift blame knowing their free-pass to immunity has disappeared, they will desperately need some high-level cabinet member to point at, and this may come as a shock to everyone... but Stephen Miller is not very likeable.

Everyone hates this guy, he is as cringe and annoying in real life as he is on camera, everyone says it. The only reason he's there is because he learned who he can wormtongue to climb in power, and found the ultimate cursed husk to puppeteer in Trump. They will delight in throwing his gangly limbs under the bus.

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Yeah one can only hope. I have low confidence that anything will happen to anyone when the regime falls because "we must move on with unity and forgiveness" or some shit that Democrats will say.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It really depends on how successful the midterms are at flushing out the establishment Dems in power in house and senate, they are sweating right now because the last wave of local elections REALLY ran against the mainstream grain. Dems have been pushing back on electing open socialists and reformists running under the DNC brand, and instead of successfully squashing these runs down, they failed across the board at stopping grassroots movements.

If Midterms flip the legislative branch significantly AND Trump can't finish his term, we may see a wild swing back in the other direction.

The Democrats are just a container, they're only as strong in obstruction to change as their oldest old-money liches like Schumer and other withered old husks who've had their seats and committee positions for like, 3,000 years.

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I have little faith the regime will allow free and fair elections. They've done so much evil to get to this point, they're wouldn't dare risk actually letting the will of the people be carried out.

I expect this summer and fall to be the worst in my lifetime, because things are gonna get heavy.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They're proving over and over again they don't have control over much, if they did we wouldn't have seen so many leftists, dems and open socialists take lead of cities and states last cycle. They tried too.

The problem for them that both they and us often forget about is that the USA isn't one big country like Iran or Venezuela that can have their entire election system rigged by one small group. USA is 50 individual states. Remember, "State" basically means "nation."

We have 50 individual nations with their own security, their own election systems, their own laws and rules. It takes a MASSIVE effort to go everywhere in this landscape, and even if they had the balls to risk something that big, they don't have the manpower.

Not saying it's impossible for them to fuck it all up, they will absolutely try. But I don't think their success rate is nearly as high as they want you to think it is. They want you say "What good is it" and throw your hands up. They did more to suggest that they're going to cheat than actual cheating because they want people to feel powerless. We're not powerless, we still have 50 different nations with different agendas and people.

Conservative billionaires own like 70% of the voting and tabulation machines. It's only 2 companies.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago) (1 children)

It's not that simple, the "machines" aren't like internet apps (until we allow congress to approve some form of Grok-powered voting app) they're basically just digital printers that each state checks and validates are working on their own terms.

They WANT to control the machines and create some system to use that control to rig any election, but again, if they COULD do that yet, they would have already. There is no reason to think they have the power yet to override our will, we are a huge nation with a LOT of people, this isn't quite yet a banana republic, so please discourage yourself from saying it's hopeless and pointless to vote, especially around others.

People are starving for an excuse to roll over and stop trying. Seriously, I've never seen our nation so ready to just give up and cry. Everyone is lost and alone and desperate for the one thing they're most scared of, which is reaching out to others and connecting and organizing. Be a force that resists this urge.

[–] zd9@lemmy.world -1 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

When did I say "don't vote". Always vote in every election, there's usually one or a few each year on smaller things.

When did I say stop trying? Reading comprehension on social media has really gone to shit, I've seen so many responses to random things that the OP never said. You started talking about a different thing that no one said.

Voting machines were altered before the 2024 election with what the validator claims is "de minimis" meaning insignificant change, but in reality it was a substantial update to the config.ini file. Here's one surface level source that can get you started if you want to learn more. SMART Elections looked into it.

There's a lot of normal things going on that useful idiots online and Russian/Chinese/etc. agitators exploit and spread to discredit elections and cause the US to implode, BUT ALSO there are fucky things going on. Two things can be true, and the reality is nuanced and complex.

If anything this should cause more people to get involved in the end-to-end voting process to understand and protect it. MAGA has fully infiltrated the voting process since their election denial stuff in 2020, but now they have wide-spanning infrastructure and both bottom-up and top-down support in the election process at many administrative levels. I don't trust the guy who has lied and cheated his whole life, who tried to steal an election already, who partnered with the richest person in the history of the world who owns a massive tech empire, who already said they know the voting machines, who stayed in PA for months before the election, who hires people that have extensive voting machine programming history, who now has ALL of our personal data through exfiltration during DOGE, who also partners with the other massive tech titans that also seek to destroy the current America and rebuild according to Curtis Yarvin and Peter Thiel, to run a free and fair election.

Either you aren't informed or you don't care. We need to be fighting this with every person, every day, because fascism is here and they've come too far to not risk everything to stay in power.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago) (1 children)

When did I say stop trying? Reading comprehension on social media has really gone to shit,

Add yourself to that list bucko.

I didn't say you said that, I said people are looking for excuses to check out of voting. You didn't even give me anything to work on, you said ONE fucking paragraph that implied votes would be compromised, which I pushed back on.

This is what you said, I said there's hope.

Conservative billionaires own like 70% of the voting and tabulation machines. It’s only 2 companies.

I'm not reading the rest if you are gonna lay down a contentious essay because I made a MILD fucking pushback against apathy. If you're looking for someone to get mad at, don't pick people who are actually advocating for involvement, it feels like you're setting yourself up to get pissy and that's not effective messaging.

Get your reactionary impulses under fucking control. I won't see responses, play for the "crowd" all you want.

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

please discourage yourself from saying it's hopeless and pointless to vote, especially around others.

That's where you said I said that.

How about channel that purity testing towards actual action? I already am, but you funnel all your internet outrage towards tangibly improving things.

Arrest, prosecute, jail, hang (until dead. Give it a week or so).

You can do that process in any order you like though...

[–] BanMe@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Hang him low enough we can piss on him.

... Or, better yet, a pissing platform, like a diving board, elevated.

Wait if I invent this can it be named after me?

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If I saw on the news he was treated like Gadaffi at the end, I'd be pleasantly surprised. However I do believe he should be publicly arrested, tried, convicted, and sent to rot in prison for the rest of his life.

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I was like that about tRUMP. I was ecstatic when the top secret documents trial was getting some traction, I actually believed -stupidly- that this time the obese child rapist was going to feel some consequences.
Now, death. There will never be any consequences. So death is my new hope.

Asked why administration officials like Miller and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem jumped to conclusions “before an investigation had even been conducted,” Leavitt said, “Well, look, this has obviously been a very fluid and fast-moving situation throughout the weekend, as President Trump, whom I speak for, he has said that he wants to let the investigation continue and let the facts lead in this case

Ok? Why didn't you do that?

[–] ramenshaman@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago

"Facts" doesn't mean the same thing to them as it does to you and me. I can already tell you what the conclusion of their investigation will be.

I cannot wait for every one of these people to stand in front of judges and try to weasel their way out of it.

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 42 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Those on trial at Nuremburg mostly continued to hold their horrific views right through their executions.

[–] becausechemistry@piefed.social 39 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Yeah but those people actually believed things. Our people are sniveling shitheads whose beliefs only extend to the extent they can benefit from them.

Except Stephen Miller, maybe.

[–] kryptonianCodeMonkey@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Except Stephen Miller, maybe.

I was about to say, Miller is a true fascist, racist cunt and is not apologetic about if. He'll go to his grave telling you he's superior to everyone. Hopefully the wait for that moment is brief.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 day ago

Yeah but he's also a little bitch, so.... Hard to say

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago

Curtis Yarvin too. He's the "philosopher" behind Thiel, Musk, Andreeson, Ben Horowitz, Brian Armstrong, and the other technofascists running the coup that's happening now.

Oh also Kevin Roberts of the Heritage Foundation. He is a straight up domestic terrorist (he said it himself) and needs to be handled as such.

[–] novibe@lemmy.ml 9 points 1 day ago

Also reminder that the vast majority of Nazis were not executed at Nuremberg. They were freed, and went on to join the nascent NATO and West German government.

The first NATO general was a Nazi general. The first president of the German intelligence agency was a Nazi spy master.

Betteridge's Law of Headlines is now in full effect.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

Doesn't the headline need to be in the form of a question for that to apply?

[–] hector@lemmy.today 5 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I hate how the new york times describes it. As if reasonable people could come to conclusions in support of the government. The video appears to contradict their account, type talk.

It's quite clear, it was clear with ms good and it's clear with Pretti, they were executed, in cold blood, then slandered to justify it. And most conservatives have gone along, as if federal agents executing citizens without cause is an ok precedent to set, as if it will always be the others, as if it doesn't give lie to all of their convictions and stances.

And no, the mealy mouthed NRA deserves little credit, following it's weak disagreement summary execution for reasons on carrying a handgun legally with a false accounting of protesters and victim blaming.

These people are actively betraying the United States, and the weak minded amongst the conservatives are ok with it, so much have they bought into the media and influencers that have turned them against their fellow citizens, and against the country and constitution in favor of the worst people in the world getting absolute power and plunging the world into interminable darkness, so to speak.

Every institution that previously called these people out, and resisted, gave up this time around. The NYTimes is not breaking any big scandals, and are bending over for the administration, everyone gave up prematurely here, no doubt after seeing how the democrats weren't going to win under any circumstance.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 5 points 1 day ago (2 children)

everyone gave up prematurely here

What are you talking about? NOBODY has given up, it's still the primary story, after the immediate issue of the big storm. But the storm is over, and the ICE Executions are still the main story. Today Bovino is out, Noem is being replaced by Homan, Lewandowski is probably out, and I have heard several people demand Miller's firing just this morning.

This isn't even CLOSE to over.

Maybe you're just one of those trolls who have been flooding social media with the "it's no use, the Dem leaders have surrendered, we might as well surrender, too" posts.
